Abstract
Description
リップマンの方程式は、印加した電圧(V)と、得られる表面張力(γ)との間の関係を表し、そして下記:
γ=γ0−(l/2)cV2
となる。
リップマンの方程式は、ヤングの方程式を導入することにより、接触角に関して表現することができ、下記:
γSL=γSG−γLG−γCOSθ
となる。
得られた方程式は、リップマン−ヤングの方程式と呼ばれ、下記:

となる。
複数の電極を用いることにより、表面上の流体の接触角を変化させるだけでなく、表面上で液滴を移動させることができる。例えば、6ナノリットルの液滴(約0.3mm直径)を、200Hz超で、電極アレイ上を移動させることができる。
バルーンカテーテル42の絶縁材により分離されているノズル44及び電極41の逆の静電電位の電気的浸潤作用のため、上記液状材料の液滴44が、バルーンカテーテル42の外面に沿って拡がり、続いて、電極41のパターンに沿って拡がる。本発明のこの例示的な実施形態は、ステント表面に液滴を堆積させるための、金属シリンジ(又はインクジェットノズル)の使用を具体的に説明するものである。上記シリンジ(又はインクジェットノズル)を、流体浴の代わりに対極として用いることができる。
上記治療薬は、任意の医薬的に許容可能な薬剤、例えば、非遺伝的治療薬、生体分子、小分子、又は細胞であることができる。
治療剤はいずれも、その組み合わせが生物的にふさわしい程度に組み合わせることができる。
Claims (20)
- 医療用具の少なくとも一部をコーティングするための方法であって、
前記医療用具は、前記医療用具の少なくとも一部上の電極上に位置する絶縁層を有し、
前記方法は、下記段階;
前記絶縁層上に液状薬剤を配置させる段階;
前記電極に静電電位を加える段階;及び
前記液状薬剤に他の静電電位を加える段階:
を含む。 - 前記静電電位及び他の静電電位が、異なる大きさ及び異なる電荷の少なくとも一方を有する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記電極に静電電位を加える段階及び前記液状の生物活性薬剤に他の静電電位を加える段階が、同時に実施される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記液状薬剤を配置させる段階が、前記電極に静電電位を加える段階及び前記液状の生物活性薬剤に他の静電電位を加える段階と同時及びそれら段階の直前の少なくとも一方において実施される、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記医療用具上の前記液状の生物活性薬剤を乾燥させる段階をさらに含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記液状の生物活性薬剤を乾燥させる段階が、前記電極に静電電位を加える段階及び前記液状の生物活性薬剤に他の静電電位を加える段階と同時及びそれら段階の直後の少なくとも一方において実施される、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記医療用具上の前記液状の生物活性薬剤を乾燥させる段階が、所定の時間待つこと、前記医療用具を加熱すること、及び前記医療用具上にガスを流すことの少なくとも一つにより実施される、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記絶縁層が、前記医療用具上に液状ポリマーをスプレー塗装することにより、前記医療用具の少なくとも一部上の前記電極上に配置される、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記液状ポリマーが、発泡ポリテトラフルオロエチレンを含む、請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記液状薬剤が、パクリタキセル含有ポリマーを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記液状薬剤を配置させる段階が、下記段階;
前記液状薬剤の浴に、前記医療用具をディップコーティングする段階;及び
前記絶縁層の表面に、シリンジを用いて前記液状薬剤を加える段階:
の少なくとも一方を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記他の静電電位を、前記シリンジにより前記液状薬剤に加える、請求項11に記載の方法。
- 前記電極が前記医療用具の金属部分を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記医療用具が前記電極を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記絶縁層が、前記医療用具の表面全体の上に位置する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記医療用具が、ステント及びバルーンカテーテルの一つである、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記絶縁層が多孔質構造体を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記多孔質構造体の孔が、約1nm〜約1μmの直径を有する、請求項17に記載の方法。
- 一定の方法により塗装したコーティングを有する医療器具であって、
前記医療用具は、前記医療用具の表面の少なくとも一部に絶縁層を含み、
前記方法は、下記段階;
前記絶縁層の第一の面に液状薬剤を配置させる段階;
前記絶縁層の第二の面に近接する電極を配置させる段階、当該第二の面は、前記第一の面と反対側にある;
前記液状薬剤に静電電位を加える段階;及び
前記電極に異なる静電電位を加える段階、当該異なる静電電位は、前記静電電位を加えるのと同時に加えられる:
を含む。 - 医療用具に液状コーティングを加えるためのシステムであって、
下記;
前記医療用具を保持するための設備;
前記液状コーティングを分配するように適合させ、そして前記液状コーティングに静電電位を加えるように適合させたノズル;
前記医療用具の金属部分に電気的に接続した電極、前記電極は、前記医療用具にさらなる静電電位を加えるように適合し、前記さらなる静電電位は、前記静電電位と比較して、異なる大きさ及び異なる電荷の少なくとも一方を有する;及び
前記ノズルに、前記液状コーティングを供給するように適合させた前記液状コーティング源:
を含むシステム。
