Abstract
Description
出発原料:
“HS3000”(CAS#214154−63−9)、The Dow Chemical Company製
塩化セチルピリジニウム一水塩(CPC)(CAS#6004−24−6)、Sigma Aldrich(St.Louis,MO.,USA)製
ポリビニルアルコール(PVOH)(CAS#9002−89−5)、Sigma Aldrich製
脱イオン水(CAS#007732−18−5)
固形分8.7%のPVOH原液を製造する。PVOH溶液は、良好な可溶化性と均一な混合を確実にするため、使用の前に加熱されて攪拌され、そして得られる溶液は、ラテックス凝集体に添加する前に室温に放冷する。
凝集中空粒子ラテックスの性能を試験するため、TAPPI T−205 sp−95法に従い、英国規格半自動手漉き型(British Standard Semiautomatic Handsheet Mold)を用いて、紙の手漉きシートを製造する。沈降炭酸カルシウム(工業規格)が対照標準の充填剤として用いられる。充填剤の負荷量に対する性能を比較するため、ブランクの手漉きシート(即ち充填剤無添加)も製造する。
AGG−実施例1からの凝集中空粒子ラテックス
CaCO3−(対照標準の充填剤:“PCC,Albacar(登録商標)”、偏三角面体型の鉱物充填剤、Special Minerals製)
ブランク−(無充填剤、この試料は充填剤0%のデータの点としてプロット上に示される)
充填剤の比較分析を、製造した手漉きシートを用いて実施する。次のデータは、沈降炭酸カルシウム充填剤と比較して、特に嵩高性(bulking ability)及び視覚的特性に関して、凝集中空粒子ラテックス充填剤の卓越した性能を例証している。それぞれのタイプの試料について12枚の手漉きシートを製造し、報告される特性は、それぞれのシートでの多数の読みに基づいた10枚のシートの平均である。
Claims (10)
- 主としてセルロース繊維パルプを含む水性スラリーを生成させ、そのスラリーから湿潤シートを形成し、そしてそのシートを乾燥することを含んでなる、紙材料を製造する方法であって、スラリー中に凝集中空粒子ラテックスを用いることを改良点とする方法。
- 前記凝集中空粒子が平均粒子径約3〜約100μmを有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記凝集中空粒子がカチオン表面電荷を有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記凝集中空粒子がアニオン表面電荷を有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記凝集中空粒子が中性表面電荷を有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 追加の充填剤を使用し、凝集中空粒子が使用される全充填剤の少なくとも10重量%を構成する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記凝集中空粒子を、そのラテックス粒子の10〜70%の範囲の内部空隙を有する中空ラテックス粒子から製造する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記凝集中空粒子が30〜90%の範囲の総空隙容積を有する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記凝集中空粒子ラテックスを、安定剤の添加により改質する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1に記載の方法により製造された紙材料。
