Abstract
【解決手段】プログラム・ガイド情報は、ビデオ・プログラム・データストリームに組み込み、記憶媒体に記憶し、または放送用可変符号化フォーマットで放送するのに適するように形成される。複数の符号化フォーマットの1つで複数の出力チャンネルの1つに出力するのに適するようにビデオ・データをフォーマッティングする。出力チャンネルにビデオ・プログラムを関連付けるチャンネル・マップを含むプログラム・ガイド情報を形成する。プログラム・ガイド情報はチャンネル・マップに符号化フォーマットを関連付ける。プログラム・ガイド情報およびビデオ・データはデータストリームに組み込まれ、データストリームは、出力チャンネルに供給される。

Claims (7)
- 複数の物理送信チャンネル(PTC)のうちの1つの物理送信チャンネル(PTC)にて、放送用可変符号化フォーマットを含む複数の符号化フォーマットのうちの1つの符号化フォーマットでデータストリームを送信する送信機において前記データストリームを形成する方法であって、
前記方法は、
(a)変調フォーマットおよび符号化の種類を示す1つのパラメータを生成するステップと、
(b)前記1つの物理送信チャンネル(PTC)を1つまたは複数のビデオ・プログラム・データと関連付ける1つのチャンネル・マップを生成するステップと、
(c)前記1つのパラメータと前記1つのチャンネル・マップとを1つのプログラム・ガイド情報に結合するステップと、
(d)前記1つのプログラム・ガイド情報を形成して、前記1つのチャンネル・マップを前記1つの符号化フォーマットに関連付けるステップと、
(e)前記1つのプログラム・ガイド情報および前記1つまたは複数のビデオ・プログラム・データを前記データストリームに組み込むステップと
を含むことを特徴とする方法。 - 複数のチャンネル・マップを含むプログラム・ガイド情報を形成するステップをさらに含み、
前記チャンネル・マップは、第1の出力チャンネルを第1の符号化フォーマットと関連付ける第1のチャンネル・マップ、及び異なる第2の出力チャンネルを第2の符号化フォーマットと関連付ける第2のチャンネル・マップを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。 - 前記チャンネル・マップが複数のビデオ・プログラムを1つの出力チャンネルと関連付けるプログラム・ガイド情報を形成するステップをさらに含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記符号化の種類を示すパラメータは、トレリス符号化またはトレリス符号化以外の符号化を示すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記符号化の種類を示すパラメータは、エラー訂正符号化を示すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記変調フォーマットを示すパラメータは、変調フォーマット・シンボル・コンステレーションのサイズを示すことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 請求項1乃至請求項6のいずれかに記載の方法を実行させるためのプログラムを記録したコンピュータ読み取り可能な記憶媒体。
