Abstract
Description
本出願は2004年3月2日出願の米国仮特許出願第60/549,607号明細書の利益を主張する。
粘度はBrookfield DV−II+粘度計で測定した。小さいサンプルアダプター(サンプルを入れるジャケット付き容器)および00スピンドルを用いてサンプルを処理した。水浴を用いて、25℃で小さいサンプルアダプターのジャケットを通して水を再循環させた。各サンプルを60rpmで処理し、少なくとも5分保持して、サンプルが25℃で平衡になるとともに、サンプル中に存在する場合がある一切の気泡を逃がすのに十分な時間にわたってスピンドルの回転を与えることを可能にした。分析のために用いたサンプルサイズは約18mLであった。
積層体の接着力(圧縮剪断強度の表現で与えられる)は圧縮剪断試験によって決定される。圧縮剪断強度は、積層体を2.54cm×2.54cmの6つのチップに鋸で切ることにより決定される。チップを治具内に45度で保持し、圧縮試験計器を用いて0.25cm/分の速度でチップ上に力を加える。ガラス−PVB結合の凝集破壊を引き起こすための力の量が積層体の圧縮剪断強度である。
インキの100グラムのサンプルを次の通り調製する。
250mlボトルに溶媒および分散剤を投入し、分散剤が溶媒に完全に溶解するまで成分を混合する。白色顔料を容器にゆっくり添加し、よく混合した。混合物にジルコニウム媒体(0.8〜1.0ミル)を添加する。その後、容器をロールミル上に置き、ミルの速度を200rpmに調節する。インキを特定の時間にわたり粉砕する。1マイクロメートルの濾紙を用いる濾過によってインキを媒体から分離する。その後、インキの物理的特性を分析する。溶媒(インキビヒクル)を次の通り以下で略称する。ジプロピレングリコールメチルエーテル(DPM)、ジプロピレングリコールメチルエーテルアセテート(DPMA)、トリプロピレングリコールプロピルエーテル(TPnP)、ジプロピレングリコールプロピルエーテル(DPnP)、トリプロピレングリコールメチルエーテル(TMP)。
示した量で表1の成分を用いて一般手順によりインキを調製した。各実施例の混合物を12時間にわたり粉砕した。実施例1および3〜5は良好な濾過性を示した。実施例2は劣った濾過性を有していた。インキは、中程度から良好な安定性を有していた。各々の噴出性を試験した時優れていた。すなわち、印刷ヘッドからインクジェットする優れた能力。
示した量で表1の成分を用いて一般手順によりインキを調製した。各実施例の混合物を24時間にわたり粉砕した。実施例6および8〜13は良好な濾過性を示した。実施例7は劣った濾過性を有していた。インキは、中程度から良好な安定性を有していた。各々はすぐれた噴出性を有していた。
R700は、アルミニウム処理され、0.3%のトリメチロールプロパン(TMP)を有するTiO2であり市販されている。
TS−6200は、アルミニウム処理ならびにシリカ湿式処理され、クエン酸およびTMPを有するTiO2であり市販されている。
D2000はDispersbyk2000である。
D2001はDispersbyk2001である。
P−25・TiO2は、Degussaから入手できるナノTiO2である。
*粘度は高すぎて(>10cps)用いた試験条件下で決定できなかった。
実施例14は、0%DPMAおよび100%DPM(溶媒比)である。
実施例21は、100%DPMAおよび0%DPMである。
モード1:白色インキを最初に印刷し、次に色(CMYK)をその上に印刷した(オーバープリントした)。
モード2:白色インキを他の色(CMYK)と同時に印刷した。
接着力(psi)を測定した。結果を表3にまとめている。
実施例11のインキを100%付着率でおよび50%付着率でもPVBのシート上に印刷し、シートをガラスに積層した。比較例は白色インキによる付着率0%であった。接着力を測定した。それを表6に示している。
実施例12のインキを100%付着率でおよび50%付着率でもPVBのシート上に印刷し、シートをガラスに積層した。比較例は白色インキによる付着率0%であった。接着力を測定した。それを表6に示している。
実施例13のインキを100%付着率でおよび50%付着率でもPVBのシート上に印刷し、シートをガラスに積層した。比較例は白色インキによる付着率0%であった。接着力を測定した。それを表6に示している。
Claims (24)
- 白色顔料インキを熱可塑性ポリマー基材材料上にインクジェット印刷する方法であって、前記白色顔料インキが前記白色顔料のための少なくとも1種の有機液体および少なくとも1種の分散剤を含むビヒクル中に白色顔料粒子を含む非水性分散液である方法。
- 前記白色顔料は二酸化チタン(TiO2)である、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記分散液は約500nm未満のサイズを有するTiO2粒子を含む、請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記分散液は約100nm〜約400nmの範囲内のTiO2粒子を含む、請求項3に記載の方法。
- 前記分散液は約200nm〜約300nmの範囲内のTiO2粒子を含む、請求項4に記載の方法。
- 前記ビヒクルは全ビヒクル濃度の約50%以下の濃度でジプロピレングリコールモノメチルエーテルアセテート(DPMA)を含む、請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記DPMAは前記ビヒクルの約5〜約50%を構成する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 前記DPMAは前記ビヒクルの約15〜約45%を構成する、請求項6に記載の方法。
- 熱可塑性ポリマー基材材料上にインクジェット印刷するために適する非水性白色顔料インキ分散液であって、前記白色顔料インキが前記白色顔料のための少なくとも1種の有機液体および少なくとも1種の分散剤を含むビヒクル中に約1pph(pphは100部当たりの部を表す)〜約40pphの白色顔料粒子を含む非水性分散液である非水性白色顔料インキ分散液。
- 約5pph(pphは100部当たりの部を表す)〜約35pphの前記白色顔料粒子を含む、請求項9に記載の分散液。
- 約10pph(pphは100部当たりの部を表す)〜約30pphの前記白色顔料粒子を含む、請求項10に記載の分散液。
- 前記ビヒクルは全ビヒクル濃度の約50%までの量でDPMAを含む、請求項11に記載の分散液。
- 前記ビヒクルは約5%〜約50%のDPMAを含む、請求項12に記載の分散液。
- 前記ビヒクルは約15%〜約45%のDPMAを含む、請求項13に記載の分散液。
- 前記白色顔料粒子は約500nm未満の範囲内のサイズを有するTiO2粒子を含む、請求項14に記載の分散液。
- 前記分散液は約100nm〜約400nmの範囲内のTiO2粒子を含む、請求項15に記載の分散液。
- 前記分散液は約200nm〜約300nmの範囲内のTiO2粒子を含む、請求項15に記載の分散液。
- 画像担持熱可塑性中間層基材を含む積層物品であって、前記画像がインクジェット印刷法を用いて前記基材の少なくとも1つの表面上に白色インキ分散液を印刷することにより被着させた白色顔料粒子を含む積層物品。
- 前記白色顔料粒子は約500nm未満の範囲内のサイズを有するTiO2粒子を含む、請求項18に記載の積層体。
- 前記白色顔料粒子は約100nm〜約400nmの範囲内のサイズを有する、請求項19に記載の積層体。
- 前記白色顔料粒子は約200nm〜約300nmの範囲内のサイズを有する、請求項20に記載の積層体。
- 前記熱可塑性中間層基材は、ポリウレタン(PUR)、ポリエステル、ポリ塩化ビニル(PVC)、ポリオレフィンおよびポリビニルブチラール(PVB)からなる群から選択されたポリマーから得られる、請求項21に記載の積層体。
- 前記熱可塑性中間層はPURポリマーまたはPVBポリマーである、請求項22に記載の積層体。
- 熱可塑性中間層の少なくとも1つの表面上に非水性白色顔料入りインキをインクジェット印刷する工程と、適する積層基材のシート間に画像担持中間層を積層する工程とを含む、少なくとも約1000psiの積層体接着強度を有する画像担持積層体を得るための方法であって、前記白色顔料インキが前記白色顔料のための少なくとも1種の有機液体および少なくとも1種の分散剤を含むビヒクル中に白色顔料粒子を含む非水性分散液である方法。
