Claims (1)

  1. 照明及び画像キャプチャの狭領域及び広領域モードをサポートするハンド-サポータブル・デジタル・イメージング・ベース・バーコード・シンボル読取りデバイスであって、
    光透過開口を有しているハンド-サポータブル筐体と；
    物体が画像形成される視野（ＦＯＶ）を生成する画像形成光学系、及び（ｉ）画像感知アレイのいくつかの中央行の画素がイネーブルされる狭領域画像キャプチャ・モード、または（ｉｉ）画像感知アレイの多くのまたは実質的に全ての行がイネーブルされる広領域画像キャプチャ・モードのいずれかにおいて照明動作中に物体から反射された画像形成した光を検出する領域型画像感知アレイを有しているマルチ-モード領域型画像形成及び検出サブシステムと；
    キャプチャされ且つバッファされた画像の、画像キャプチャの狭領域及び広領域モード中に前記画像形成及び検出サブシステムの前記ＦＯＶ内でＬＥＤ照明の狭領域及び広領域フィールドをそれぞれ生成するマルチ-モードＬＥＤベース照明サブシステムと；
    前記画像形成及び検出サブシステムによって検出された２-Ｄ画像をキャプチャリングしかつバッファリングする画像キャプチャリング及びバッファリング・サブシステムと；
    前記画像キャプチャリング及びバッファリング・サブシステムによってキャプチャされかつバッファされた画像を処理しかつ表された１-Ｄ及び２-Ｄバーコード・シンボルを読取るマルチモード画像処理ベース・バーコード・シンボル読取りサブシステムと；
    外部ホスト・システムまたは他の情報受信または応答デバイスへ処理した画像データを出力する入出力サブシステムと；及び
    前記サブシステムを制御しかつ協調させるシステム制御サブシステムと
    を備えていることを特徴とするハンド-サポータブル・デジタル・イメージング・ベース・バーコード・シンボル読取りデバイス。
