Description

e)ポリマー結合剤と、水分散性のまたは水溶性の紫外線阻止材料とを含み、紫外線が該ポリマー分散型液晶材料に到達しないように配置にされている少なくとも1つの障壁層とを備えるディスプレイによって達成される。

Claims (20)
- a)基板と;
b)複数の透明な第1の導電体と;
c)複数の第2の導電体と;
d)該第1の導電体と該第2の導電体の間に配置されたポリマー分散型液晶材料含有層と;
e)ポリマー結合剤と、水分散性のまたは水溶性の紫外線阻止材料とを含み、紫外線が該ポリマー分散型液晶材料に到達しないように配置にされている少なくとも1つの障壁層と
を備えるディスプレイ。 - 前記紫外線阻止材料が、溶けた化合物、および/または分散した粒子を含んでいる、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記紫外線阻止材料が、UV吸収性有機化合物を含む分散した粒子の形態であり、前記ポリマー結合剤がゼラチンである、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記UV吸収性有機化合物が、前記ゼラチンの中に分散させた油の中に溶けている、請求項3に記載のディスプレイ。
- 分散した前記粒子が、実質的に、前記障壁層の中で独立した疎水相を形成するUV吸収性有機化合物からなる、請求項3に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記紫外線阻止材料が、TiO2、ZnO、酸化鉄、ならびにこれらの組み合わせからなる群より選択した粒子を含んでいる、請求項2に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記障壁層の厚さが約1μm以下である、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記紫外線阻止材料が、前記障壁層の厚さよりも小さな平均直径の粒子を含んでいる、請求項7に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記障壁層が、前記複数の第1の導電体を分離するための絶縁材料でもある、請求項1に記載のディスプレイ。
- a)可撓性のある透明な支持体と;
b)複数の透明な第1の導電体を含む、パターン化された第1の導電層と;
c)透明な場合もある複数の第2の導電体を含む、パターン化された第2の導電層と;
d)該第1の導電体と該第2の導電体の間に配置されたポリマー分散型液晶材料含有イメージング層と;
e)水分散性のまたは水溶性の紫外線阻止材料と、親水性ポリマー結合剤とを含み、前記2つの導電層の間にあって紫外線が該ポリマー分散型液晶材料に到達しないように配置にされている、厚さが約1μm以下の少なくとも1つの障壁層と
を備えているディスプレイ。 - 前記障壁層の厚さが1μm未満である、請求項10に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記障壁層の厚さが0.7μm未満である、請求項10に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記障壁層が、前記第1の導電層と前記イメージング層の間に配置されている、請求項10に記載のディスプレイ。
- 前記障壁層が、前記結合剤としてゼラチンを含んでいる、請求項10に記載のディスプレイ。
- ディスプレイの製造方法であって、
a)基板を用意し;
b)該基板の上に複数の透明な第1の導電体を形成し;
c)該第1の導電体の上にポリマー分散型液晶材料からなる層をコーティングし;
d)水分散性のまたは水溶性の紫外線阻止材料と、親水性ポリマー結合剤とを含む少なくとも1つの障壁層を形成するに際し、紫外線が該ポリマー分散型液晶材料に到達しないように配置し;
e)該ポリマー分散型液晶材料の上に複数の第2の導電体を形成することを特徴とする方法。 - 前記障壁層を、前記複数の透明な第1の導電体と、前記ポリマー分散型液晶材料からなる層との間に配置する、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記障壁層を、透明な第1の導電層内にも取り込ませ、その層内で該導電体を互いに分離させる、請求項16に記載の方法。
- 前記親水性ポリマー結合剤がゼラチンである、請求項15に記載の方法。
- 前記紫外線阻止材料が、溶けた有機化合物、および/または分散した有機粒子または無機粒子を含む、請求項15に記載の方法。
- ディスプレイの製造方法であって、
a)基板を用意し;
b)複数の透明な第1の導電体を形成し;
c)複数の第2の導電体を形成し;
d)該第1の導電体と該第2の導電体の間に配置されたポリマー分散型液晶材料含有層を形成し;
e)水分散性のまたは水溶性の紫外線阻止材料と、親水性ポリマー結合剤とを含む少なくとも1つの障壁層を形成するに際し、紫外線が該ポリマー分散型液晶材料に到達しないように配置し;
f)続いて、紫外線レーザービームで該第2の導電体をエッチングするに際し、その紫外線が該第1の導電体に到達する前に、該紫外線阻止材料がその紫外線レーザービームから実質的な紫外線を吸収することを特徴とする方法。
