Abstract
【解決手段】過電流保護素子10は2枚の金属ホイル12及び2枚の金属ホイルの間に挟み込まれたPTC材料層14を有する。PTC材料層14はポリマー母材及び導電性フィラーから実質的になる。ポリマー母材は少なくとも第1の結晶性ポリマー、例えばLDPEと第2の結晶性ポリマー、例えばPVDFを含み、[第2の結晶性ポリマーの融解温度]−[第1の結晶性ポリマーの融解温度]は50℃以上である。導電性フィラーは体積抵抗率が500μΩ-cm未満の金属粒から選ばれ、ポリマー母材内に分散される。PTC材料の初期体積抵抗率は0.1Ω-cm未満であり、[抵抗率が初期抵抗率の1000倍まで上昇するPTC材料層のトリップ温度]−[第1の結晶性ポリマーの融解温度]は15℃未満である。

Claims (10)
- 過電流保護素子において、
2枚の金属ホイルと、
前記2枚の金属ホイルの間に挟み込まれ、
(1)第1の結晶性ポリマー及び第2の結晶性ポリマーを少なくとも含み、前記
第2の結晶性ポリマーの融解温度が前記第1の結晶性ポリマーの融解温度よりも少なくとも50℃は高い、ポリマー母材、及び
(2)前記ポリマー母材内に分散され、体積抵抗率が500μΩ-cm未満の、導電性フィラー、
を有する、正温度係数(PTC)材料層と、
を有し、
前記PTC材料層が0.1Ω-cm未満の体積抵抗率を有し、[前記PTC材料層の抵抗値が前記PTC材料層の初期抵抗値の1000倍まで上昇するトリップ温度]−[前記第1の結晶性ポリマーの融解温度]が15℃未満であることを特徴とする過電流保護素子。 - −40℃と+85℃の間の熱衝撃を100サイクル受けた後の前記PTC材料層の前記抵抗値が前記PTC材料層の前記初期抵抗値の100倍未満であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の過電流保護素子。
- 前記PTC材料層内の前記第1の結晶性ポリマーが20重量%未満であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の過電流保護素子。
- 前記第2の結晶性ポリマーがフッ素系ポリマーであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の過電流保護素子。
- 前記フッ素系ポリマーがポリフッ化ビニリデン(PVDF)であることを特徴とする請求項4に記載の過電流保護素子。
- 前記第1の結晶性ポリマーが低密度ポリエチレンであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の過電流保護素子。
- 前記PTC材料層内の前記第2の結晶性ポリマーが1〜10重量%の範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の過電流保護素子。
- 前記導電性フィラーが金属粒または非酸化物セラミック粉末であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の過電流保護素子。
- 前記導電性フィラーがニッケル粉末または炭化チタン粉末であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の過電流保護素子。
- 前記2枚の金属ホイルに接続された2つの電極をさらに有することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の過電流保護素子。
