Abstract
【解決手段】本発明による電界発光表示装置は、データラインとスキャンラインに電気的に連結される駆動部と、発光するために該駆動部に電気的に連結される少なくとも二つの発光ダイオードを含む発光部と、一つの電圧源がまた他の電圧源から前記発光ダイオードのうちの各々の一つに供給された電圧と異なる電圧を供給する複数の電圧源と、及び該電圧源と前記発光ダイオードの間で前記発光ダイオードを前記電圧源に選択的に連結する選択部と、を含むことを特徴とする。

Description
図1に示すように、従来のアクティブマトリックス型有機電界発光表示装置100は駆動部102と発光部104、及び電圧源(VDD)に大きく区分されて備えられる。
本発明の付加的な特徴と利点は次の説明に示されて部分的に前記説明で明白になるか、又は本発明の実施から理解されるであろう。本発明の目的及びその他の利点は添付した図面はもちろんのこと、発明の詳細な説明と請求項に特別に示された構造によって実現されて達成されるであろう。
前記概括的な説明と以下の詳細な説明は例証的、説明的なものであり、請求された本発明をより詳しく説明するために意図されたことを理解しなければならない。
図2に示すように、アクティブマトリックス型電界発光表示装置300は駆動部302、三つの電圧源(VDDR、VDDG、VDDB)、発光部304、及び選択部306を含む。
また、前述した一つのピクセルに対応する三つの発光ダイオードは互いに異なる色の光を放出するためのR、G、Bダイオードを含む。前記一つのピクセルに対応する発光ダイオードの数が四つであると、互いに異なる色の光を放出するための四つの発光ダイオードはR、G、B、そしてWダイオードであることができる。
また、適当なものとして、発光ダイオードは赤、緑、青、白以外の色であることができる。
前記界発光表示装置300の素子の配置が図2に図示されているが、本発明はこれに制限されることなく、配置は電界発光表示装置の必要と必要条件によって変わることができる。
図4に示すように、前記アクティブマトリックス型電界発光表示装置300は複数のピクセルM×Nを含む。ピクセルM×Nのそれぞれは駆動部302と発光部304を含む。前記駆動部302の各々はデータライン308とスキャンライン310との交差点に位置する。前記発光部304は三つの発光ダイオード(R、G、B)を含む。三つの発光ダイオード(R、G、B)は同一駆動部302に電気的に連結される。
第2及び第3フィールド(SF2及びSF3)において、第1フィールド(SF1)と同一プロセスが遂行されるが、ポジティブスキャン信号(SL1〜SLN)が第1列の緑及び青色の発光ダイオード(G、B)でN番目の列の赤色発光ダイオード(R)までスキャンライン310を介してスイッチング用トランジスタ(T1)に順次的に供給される。
以上、説明した内容を通じて当業者であれば本発明の技術事象を外れない範囲で変更が可能であり、本発明の技術的範囲は、明細書の詳細な説明に記載された内容に限るのではなく、特許請求範囲により定めるはずである。

Claims (23)
- データラインとスキャンラインに電気的に連結される駆動部と、
発光するために該駆動部に電気的に連結される少なくとも二つの発光ダイオードを含む発光部と、
一つの電圧源が他の電圧源から前記発光ダイオードのうちの各々の一つに供給された電圧と異なる電圧を供給する複数の電圧源と、
該電圧源と前記発光ダイオードの間で前記発光ダイオードを前記電圧源に選択的に連結する選択部と、を含む電界発光表示装置。 - 前記選択部は前記電圧源の各々と前記発光ダイオードのうちの一つの間にある少なくとも一つのトランジスタを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- 前記発光部は各々が赤、緑、青色の光のうち一つを放出して前記電圧源の少なくとも二つのうち一つに電気的に連結される三つの発光ダイオードを含むことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- 前記発光ダイオードは有機発光層を含む有機電界発光表示素子であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- 選択部は前記発光ダイオードを前記電圧源に順次的に連結することを特徴とする請求項1に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- 前記三つの発光ダイオードの各々は前記少なくとも二つの電圧源のうち他の一つに連結されることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- データラインとスキャンラインに電気的に連結される駆動部と、
発光するために該駆動部に電気的に連結される少なくとも二つの発光ダイオードを含む発光部と、
一つのグランドソースが一つのグランドソースから前記発光ダイオードのうちの各々の一つに供給された電圧と異なる電圧を供給する複数のグランドソースと、及び
該グランドソースと前記発光ダイオードの間で前記発光ダイオードを前記グランドソースに選択的に連結する選択部と、を含む電界発光表示装置。 - 前記選択部は前記グランドソースの各々と前記発光ダイオードのうち一つの間にある少なくとも一つのトランジスタを含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- 前記発光部は各々が赤、緑、青色の光のうち一つを放出して前記グランドソースの少なくとも二つのうち一つに電気的に連結される三つの発光ダイオードを含むことを特徴とする請求項7に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- 前記発光ダイオードは有機発光層を含む有機電界発光表示素子であることを特徴とする請求項7に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- 選択部は前記発光ダイオードを前記グランドソースに順次的に連結することを特徴とする請求項7に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- 前記三つの発光ダイオードの各々は前記少なくとも二つのグランドソースのうち他の一つに連結されることを特徴とする請求項9に記載の電界発光表示装置。
- スキャンラインを介して駆動部に順次的に供給されるスキャン信号によってデータラインを介してデータ信号を順次的に供給する段階と、及び
互いに異なる電圧源から前記駆動部に電気的に連結された少なくとも二つの発光ダイオードの各々に互いに異なる電圧を選択的、順次的に供給する段階と、を含む電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記発光ダイオードは各々が赤、緑、青色の光のうち一つを放出して前記電圧源の少なくとも二つのうち一つに電気的に連結される三つの発光ダイオードを含むことを特徴とする請求項13に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記発光ダイオードは有機発光層を含む有機電界発光表示素子であることを特徴とする請求項に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 三つの発光ダイオードに供給された三つの電圧源の電圧は互いに異なることを特徴とする請求項14に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 最後に供給されたデータ信号の振幅は単位データ信号と同一であることを特徴とする請求項17に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 実質的に各々のサブフィールドの間にのみ発光ダイオードの各々の色のための選択信号を供給する段階をさらに含み、
一つのフレームは発光ダイオードの各々の色のためのサブフィールドを含み、
前記スキャン信号は第1フレームでは第1スキャン方向に順次的に発光ダイオードのそれぞれの色のための複数のスキャンラインに供給され、第2フレームでは第2スキャン方向にそれぞれの色のための前記複数のスキャンラインに供給され、前記第2スキャン方向は前記第1スキャン方向の逆方向であることを特徴とする請求項13に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。 - 前記スキャン信号は第1サブフィールドの間第1方向に、そして同一フレームの前記第1サブフィールドに引き継いだ第2サブフィールドの間第2方向に供給されることを特徴とする請求項19に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記同一フレームの前記第2サブフィールドに引き継いだ第3サブフィールドの間前記スキャン信号が前記第1方向に供給されることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 前記第1及び第2方向のうち一つは上向で、前記第1及び第2方向のうち残りの一つは下向であることを特徴とする請求項21に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
- 第1フレームの最後のサブフィールドの間スキャン信号が第1方向に供給され、第2フレームの第1サブフィールドの間スキャン信号が第2方向に供給され、前記第1方向は前記第2方向と反対であることを特徴とする請求項20に記載の電界発光表示装置の駆動方法。
