Abstract
【解決手段】高分子電解質膜であって、該高分子電解質膜を用いた固体高分子形燃料電池に無加湿の水素と酸素を用いて発電を行ったときの、MRIによるスピンエコー法を用いて測定した高分子電解質膜内の水の信号強度が、数式1を満たすことを特徴とする高分子電解質膜。

Description
本発明の高分子電解質膜は、該高分子電解質膜を用いた固体高分子形燃料電池に無加湿の水素と酸素を用いて発電を行ったときの、MRIによるスピンエコー法を用いて測定した高分子電解質膜内の水の信号強度が、数式1を満たすことを特徴とするものである。測定は、燃料電池セルをMRI測定装置内に設置することによって行うことができる。測定する核種は1H(水素)であり、画像を取得するためのシーケンスとしてはスピンエコー法を用いることができる。スピンエコー法における、エコー時間、繰り返し時間、画像平均化回数、スライス厚み、画像取得範囲、は測定するサンプルの大きさ、厚み、形状、測定の目的などによって適宜設定することができる。
導電率[S/cm]=1/膜幅[cm]×膜厚[cm]×抵抗極間勾配[Ω/cm]
ウベローデ型粘度計を用いて30℃で測定した0.5g/dLのN−メチル−2−ピロリドン溶液の対数粘度が1.88dL/gである下記化学式16の構造のプロトン伝導性ポリマー10gを40gのN−メチル−2−ピロリドンに溶解し、200メッシュの金網で濾過を行った。得られた溶液を放置して脱泡し、500μmの厚みでガラス板上にキャストした。ガラス板は下面から80℃で1時間、120℃で30分、150℃で30分それぞれ加熱した後、150℃の窒素雰囲気のイナートオーブン中で1時間乾燥した。その後、膜をガラスから剥離し、5Lの純水に24時間浸漬した後、5Lの2M硫酸に1時間、さらに新たな5Lの2M硫酸に1時間それぞれ浸漬し、純水で洗液がpH試験紙で中性になるまで洗浄を行い、金属枠に固定して25℃の室内に放置して乾燥し、厚み45μmの高分子電解質膜を得た。得られた高分子電解質膜を用いてMRI評価を行った。80℃、相対湿度95、66%におけるプロトン伝導性は、それぞれ0.51、0.017S/cm、イオン交換容量は2.67meq/gであった。
イオン交換容量が0.9meq/g、平均厚みが50μmの既存のパーフルオロカーボンスルホン酸系高分子電解質膜を用いて評価を行った。80℃、相対湿度95、66%におけるプロトン伝導性は、それぞれ0.19、0.009S/cm、イオン交換容量は0.90meq/gであった。

- 高分子電解質膜が主として炭化水素系ポリマーから構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高分子電解質膜。
- イオン交換容量が2〜4meq/gの範囲にあることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高分子電解質膜。
- 80℃、相対湿度95%における導電率が0.2S/cm以上であり、かつ80℃、相対湿度50%における導電率0.010S/cm以上であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高分子電解質膜。
- 80℃の水に溶解しないことを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高分子電解質膜。
- スルホン酸基を含有し、ポリスルホン、ポリエーテルスルホン、ポリフェニレンオキシド、ポリフェニレンスルフィド、ポリフェニレンスルフィドスルホン、ポリエーテルケトンの少なくとも一種が共重合された芳香族系ポリマーから主として構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の高分子電解質膜。
- Z1及びZ2がいずれもO原子であり、かつ、n1が3以上であることを特徴とする請求項8に記載の高分子電解質膜。
- Z3及びZ4がいずれもO原子であり、かつ、n2が3以上であることを特徴とする請求項11に記載の高分子電解質膜。
