Description
本発明は燃料電池を備えた携帯電話機等の携帯端末機に関する。
近年、携帯電話機等の携帯端末機は、身近な存在として生活になくてはならない存在となっている。これらの携帯電話機等の携帯端末機は、一般的に充電池を内蔵しており、この充電池に充電を繰り返すことで、携帯電話機等の携帯端末機に電力を供給するようになっている。しかしながら、近年の携帯電話機は機能の多様化が進んでおり、これに伴って消費電力が増加し、従来の充電池のみでは電力の供給が賄い切れなくなってきている。
このような電力不足を補うため、従来の充電池に加えて別の電池が設けられた携帯端末機が知られている。

前記目的を達成するために、本発明に係る携帯端末機では、筐体を表示筐体とグリップ筐体に分割し、この2つの筐体が互いに重なった第1の状態と、この2つの筐体の一端が連結された第2の状態を取り得るように、この2つの筐体を連結部で連結し、前記表示筐体は、表示装置と燃料電池とこの燃料電池に燃料を供給する燃料カートリッジとを備え、前記グリップ筐体は、操作部と前記燃料電池で発電した電気を充電する充電部を備え、前記燃料カートリッジは、前記表示筺体の側面に着脱可能に設けるようにする。
燃料電池を備えた携帯性に優れた携帯端末機を提供することができる。
本発明に係る携帯端末機を、携帯電話機を例として、図1から図11を参照して詳細に説明する。図1はこの発明に係る携帯電話機の概略構成を示し、図2から図7には第1の実施例を示し、図8は第2の実施例を示し、図9、図10が第3の実施例を示し、図11が第4の実施例を示している。なお、同一の部位や方向などは同一符号を持って示し、重複した説明を省略する。
先ず、図1を参照してこの発明の概略構造を説明する。図1はこの発明に係る携帯電話機の概略構成図である。
本発明に係る携帯電話機の1つの特徴は、その筐体10を、表示部201と燃料電池部202を備えた表示筐体(第1の筺体)200と、前記燃料電池部202で発電された電気を充電するための充電池部302と操作部301とを備えたグリップ筐体(第2の筺体)300とに分割し、この2つの筐体が互いに重なった第1の状態と、この2つの筐体の一端が連結された第2の状態とを取り得るように、この2つの筐体を連結部400で連結した構造を備えた点である。
この構造を備えた携帯電話機では、筐体10を少なくとも2つの筐体に分割し、第1の状態では2つの筐体が互いに重なってコンパクトな形態を取り、第2の状態では、2つの筐体の互いの一端が連結された通話状態を取ることができるので、収納性や携帯性を向上させることができる。そして、電源装置を、燃料電池部202と、この燃料電池部202で発電された電気を充電する充電池部302とに分けて構成し、この2つの電源を2つの筐体に分けて設けているので、第2の状態での重量バランスを向上させている。
また、前記グリップ筐体300に操作部301を設け、表示部201を表示筐体200に配置しているので、グリップ筐体300を片手で保持した際に、このグリップ筐体300を保持する片手の親指や他の片手の指で操作部301を操作しても、その動作による表示部201の視認性を損なうことが軽減される。
そして、何より、この携帯電話機の大きな特徴は、保持されるグリップ筐体300と離れて配置される表示筐体200に燃料電池部202を備えたので、燃料電池部202から発生する水分が保持する片手に触れることを軽減することができる。
また、この発明に係る携帯電話機は、2つの筐体を連結する連結部400を工夫することにより、例えば、矢印A1に示すような折り畳みや、矢印A2に示すような回転や、矢印A3に示すようなスライドなどの多様な形態(動き)を備えた携帯電話機を実現することができる。以下、図2から図11を参照して本発明に係る実施例を説明する。
また、この発明に係る携帯電話機は、2つの筐体を連結する連結部400を工夫することにより、例えば、矢印A1に示すような折り畳みや、矢印A2に示すような回転や、矢印A3に示すようなスライドなどの多様な形態(動き)を備えた携帯電話機を実現することができる。以下、図2から図11を参照して本発明に係る実施例を説明する。
図2から図7を参照して第1の実施例に係る携帯電話機を説明する。図2は、第1の実施例に係る携帯電話機の外観斜視図である。
先ず、図2を参照して、この携帯電話機の概略構造を説明する。図2において、符号1で総括的に示す携帯電話機の筐体10は、表示部201と燃料電池部202を備えた表示筐体200と、操作部301と前記燃料電池部202で発電された電気を充電するための充電池部302を備えたグリップ筐体300とに分割して構成され、この2つの筐体が互いに重なった第1の状態と、この2つの筐体の一端が連結された第2の状態を取り得るように、この2つの筐体を折りたたみ連結部410で連結した構造を備えている。
即ち、この実施例では、第2の筐体であるグリップ筐体300と第1の筐体である表示筐体200とを薄形で偏平な形状とし、それぞれの広い面の長手方向の一端を折りたたみ連結部410で折りたたみ可能に連結している。図2は、2つの筐体を開いた第2の状態を示し、この第2の状態から表示筐体200を矢印A1の方向に折りたたむことにより、2つの筐体が重なった第1の状態に変化させることができる。
前記表示筐体200は、前記第1の状態で隠蔽され、第2の状態では露出する配置面203に表示画面部204を備えている。一方、前記グリップ筐体300は、前記第1の状態で隠蔽され、第2の状態では露出する配置面303に、文字や数値を入力するためのテンキー部305と、カーソル移動キーや機能キーを備えたファンクションキー部306とからなる操作部304が配置されている。そして、前記2つの配置面203、303は、前記折りたたみ連結部410が配置される一端と対向する他の一端側にスピーカ部205とマイク部307が分けて配置される。
この構造によれば、第2の状態では、グリップ筐体300を片手で保持した場合には使用者の耳と口に合った良好な通話姿勢を取ることが可能であり、また、この第2の状態はグリップ筐体300を片手で保持した場合、前記表示画面部204を見ながら入力操作を行うことができる。
なお、図示していないが、グリップ筺体300の外周部分に、例えば、薄いゴム板等の滑り止め部材を取り付けるようにしてもよい。これにより、グリップ筺体300の保持性をより良好にすることができる。
一方、第1の状態では、表示画面部204や操作部304が2つの筐体で隠蔽/保護されるコンパクトな形態を取ることができるので、携帯性が向上する。
そして、この実施例の1つの特徴は、燃料電池部202をグリップ筐体300から離れた表示筐体200に備えた点である。しかも、この燃料電池部202の発電した電気を充電する充電池部302をグリップ筐体300に配置した点である。この構造によれば、第2の状態での重量バランスや前記表示筐体200に設けた排気穴206から排気される水分が直接グリップ筐体300を保持する片手に触れることを軽減できるので、発電時に水分が発生するという燃料電池の使用上の欠点を軽減することができる。
次に、図3を参照して、この携帯電話機1の装置構成を説明する。図3は携帯電話機の装置ブロック図である。図3において、この携帯電話機1を統括的に制御する制御部50にはバスを介して各種装置やスイッチ類が接続される。
内部切替スイッチ51は、グリップ筐体300の内部に設けられており、表示筐体200の開閉動作に対応して信号を発信する。メモリ52は各種プログラムやデータを格納し、制御部50がプログラムにしたがってこの携帯電話機1を制御する。高周波回路部53は通信装置となるものであり、主アンテナ54とサブアンテナ55が接続される。この実施の形態では、前記したように、電源部を燃料電池部202と充電池部302とから構成している。また、前記燃料電池部202は、ガバナー56により制御部50を介して発電量が制御される。カメラ部57はカメラ回路部58を介してバスに接続される。
駆動回路部59には、着信時に振動を発生させる振動部60と、メールや通話の着信あるいはアラームなどを光で知らせる状態ランプ部61が接続されており、制御部50からの制御に基づいて、これらの動作量と動作パターンが制御される。また、音声回路部62は、スピーカ部205と、音響スピーカ部67と、マイク部307とが接続されている。
更に、この実施の形態では、操作部304と任意設定キー部63とモード切替スイッチ64などが設けられており、これらの操作スイッチ類により、利用者がこの携帯電話機1を操作することができる。加えて、この実施の形態では、外部接続部65が設けてあり、コードを介して外部のパーソナルコンピュータなどと接続して、通信やデータ交換を行なうことができる。
次に、図4を参照して、2つの筐体の内蔵される装置の配置構造を説明する。図4は携帯電話機の内部レイアウト図であり、(a)図が配置面と対向する後方から見た表示筐体の内部レイアウト図、(b)図が配置面側からみたグリップ筐体の内部レイアウト図を示している。
図4の(a)図において、前記表示筐体200の表示画面部204を構成する薄形の表示部201の後方には薄形偏平な燃料電池部202の発電部207が配置され、前記折りたたみ連結部410の一端側に前記発電部207に燃料を供給するためのボンベ208と、このボンベ208から発電部207に供給される燃料を供給するためのガバナー56とカメラ部57が配置され、他の一端にはスピーカ部205とサブ表示部66が対向して配置される。
また、前記ボンベ208は、その軸方向に長い円柱形状を備えており、前記ガバナー56はこのボンベ208の長手方向の一端側に配置される。そして、前記ボンベ208は、前記ガバナー56に対して着脱可能に取り付けられる。これにより、ボンベ208を交換することにより、充電池部302のみ有するものに比べ、充電台に設置することなくいつでも充電が可能である。
一方、図4の(b)図において、グリップ筐体300は、その内部に操作基板68と制御基板69と充電池部302が前後に積層され、折りたたみ連結部410側に音響スピーカ部67が配置され、他の片側にマイク部307が配置される。
なお、2つの筐体の間の信号配線や電源配線は前記折りたたみ連結部410を介して配線される。
次に、図5、図6を参照して携帯電話機1の外観構造を説明する。図5は携帯電話機の第2の状態の外観図であり、(a)図が背面図、(b)図が左側面図、(c)図が正面図、(d)図が上面図、(e)図が底面図である。図6は携帯電話機の第1の状態の外観図であり、(a)図が上面図、(b)図が正面図、(c)図が右側面図を示している。なお、これら図5、図6の各図は図5の(c)図を正面として表記している。
図5、図6において、この実施の形態では、表示筐体200の両側面及び前記配置面203と対向する筐体面209に排気穴206を設けている。これにより、燃料電池部202から発生する水分を排気することができる。また、筐体面209に設けた排気穴206は上方に片寄って配置され、第2の状態で水分が保持する手に触れないように配慮している。この排気穴206の中央にはサブ表示部66が配置され、筐体面209の下方には、カメラ部57とフラッシュ70及び状態ランプ部61が設けられている。
また、この実施の形態では、表示筐体200に側方から装着可能なボンベ208を設けている。このボンベ208は筐体面209の一部を僅かに隆起させて形成される図示しない収納部に装着される。
一方、グリップ筐体300の配置面303と対向する筐体面308には折りたたみ連結部410側に音響スピーカ部67の放音部67aが設けられ、他方には着脱可能な充電池部302が設けられている。この充電池部302は充電端子71を備え、充電台からの充電も可能である。
次に、図7を参照して、携帯電話機1の使用状態を説明する。図7は使用状態の参考図である。前記したように、この実施の形態の携帯電話機1は、第2の状態の姿勢を取ると前記グリップ筐体300を片手で保持することができる。この保持姿勢によれば、グリップ筐体300は片手の中にスッポリ納まり、表示筐体200は片手で保持されるグリップ筐体300の上方に張り出して配置される。このため、保持する片手の指で前記操作部301を操作しても、あるいは他の手の指で前記操作部301を操作しても、上方に張り出した表示筐体200の表示画面部204の視認性を損なうことが軽減される。しかも、表示筐体200に設けた排気穴206から排出される水分は、矢印A4で示す上方に排出されるので、保持する片手に水分が接触することを軽減することができる。
また、前記ボンベ208は、上方に張り出した表示筐体200の側面から着脱できるので、取扱いが容易である。
次に、図8を参照して、この発明に係る第2実施例を説明する。図8は折りたたみ連結部の他の応用例を示す説明図である。
図8において、この前記第1の実施例では、表示筐体200にボンベ208を設ける構造としたが、この第2の実施例では折りたたみ連結部410にボンベを配置する構造としている。この場合、折りたたみ連結部410の回転中心軸Pと、前記ボンベ208の中心軸を一致させることにより、ボンベ208をコンパクトに筐体10内に収めることができる。
(a)図に示す折りたたみ連結部410は、グリップ筐体300の一端の中央に幅広く形成される第1連結部411と、前記表示筐体200の一端の両側に形成される一対の第2連結部412とで構成され、この一対の第2連結部412が前記第1連結部411の両側に支持される構造としている。この実施例では、前記第1連結部411にボンベ208を配置する。また、ガバナー56は第1連結部411または、第2連結部412の何れか一方に配置する。この場合、ガバナー56が表示筐体200に配置されない場合は、折りたたみ連結部410の回転軸Pを通過するように前記ガバナー56と発電部207とを連結するパイプを配置する。
(b)図に示す折りたたみ連結部410は、(a)図の実施例を逆転させた構造である。即ち、この折りたたみ連結部410は、表示筐体200の一端の中央に幅広く形成される第1連結部413と、前記グリップ筐体300の一端の両側に形成される一対の第2連結部414とで構成され、この一対の第2連結部414が前記第1連結部413の両側に支持される構造としている。この実施例では、前記第1連結部413にボンベ208を配置する。また、ガバナー56は第1連結部413または、第2連結部414の何れか一方に配置する。この場合、ガバナー56がグリップ筐体300に配置されない場合は、折りたたみ連結部410の回転軸Pを通過するように前記ガバナー56と発電部207とを連結するパイプを配置する。
(c)図に示す折りたたみ連結部410は、グリップ筐体300の両側に形成される一対の第1連結部415と、前記表示筐体200の一端の両側に形成される一対の第2連結部416とで構成され、この一対の第2連結部416が前記第1連結部415の両側に支持される構造としている。この実施例では、1対の連結部415、416の間に、ボンベ208の収納空間417を構成する。この場合、ガバナー56を両側の何れか一方の連結部に配置する。
(d)図に示す折りたたみ連結部410は、グリップ筐体300と表示筐体200の一端の片側に片寄って形成され第1連結部418と第2連結部419とからなり、他の開放された空間をボンベ収納空間417とする。
(a)図に示す折りたたみ連結部410は、グリップ筐体300の一端の中央に幅広く形成される第1連結部411と、前記表示筐体200の一端の両側に形成される一対の第2連結部412とで構成され、この一対の第2連結部412が前記第1連結部411の両側に支持される構造としている。この実施例では、前記第1連結部411にボンベ208を配置する。また、ガバナー56は第1連結部411または、第2連結部412の何れか一方に配置する。この場合、ガバナー56が表示筐体200に配置されない場合は、折りたたみ連結部410の回転軸Pを通過するように前記ガバナー56と発電部207とを連結するパイプを配置する。
(b)図に示す折りたたみ連結部410は、(a)図の実施例を逆転させた構造である。即ち、この折りたたみ連結部410は、表示筐体200の一端の中央に幅広く形成される第1連結部413と、前記グリップ筐体300の一端の両側に形成される一対の第2連結部414とで構成され、この一対の第2連結部414が前記第1連結部413の両側に支持される構造としている。この実施例では、前記第1連結部413にボンベ208を配置する。また、ガバナー56は第1連結部413または、第2連結部414の何れか一方に配置する。この場合、ガバナー56がグリップ筐体300に配置されない場合は、折りたたみ連結部410の回転軸Pを通過するように前記ガバナー56と発電部207とを連結するパイプを配置する。
(c)図に示す折りたたみ連結部410は、グリップ筐体300の両側に形成される一対の第1連結部415と、前記表示筐体200の一端の両側に形成される一対の第2連結部416とで構成され、この一対の第2連結部416が前記第1連結部415の両側に支持される構造としている。この実施例では、1対の連結部415、416の間に、ボンベ208の収納空間417を構成する。この場合、ガバナー56を両側の何れか一方の連結部に配置する。
(d)図に示す折りたたみ連結部410は、グリップ筐体300と表示筐体200の一端の片側に片寄って形成され第1連結部418と第2連結部419とからなり、他の開放された空間をボンベ収納空間417とする。
この発明では、前記4つの実施例に限定さえるものではなく、2つの筐体を回転可能に連結する他の連結部でも応用可能である。
また、上記の実施例ではボンベ208を回転軸P方向から装着することが有効である。この場合、ボンベ208の長手方向の両端に連結部がある場合は、挿入側の連結部にボンベ挿入用の開口部を形成し、他の連結部にこの連結部の回転角度や動きを規制するバネなどを配置するようにする。
また、ボンベ208の両側に連結部があるものにつては配置面側から挿入するようにしてもよい。この構造によれば、ボンベ208を固定するための固定手段を簡素化できる。
次に、図9と図10を参照して、本発明に係る第3実施例を説明する。図9は第1の状態の外観図であり、(a)が正面図、(b)図が右側面図、(c)図が背面図、(d)図が平面図、(e)図が底面図である。図10は第2の状態の外観図であり、(a)図が左側面図、(b)図が正面図、(c)図が背面図である。
図9および図10において、この第3実施例は、グリップ筐体300と表示筐体200をスライド連結部420で摺動可能に連結したものである。つまり、この実施の形態では、グリップ筐体300の配置面303と表示筐体200の配置面202に、互いに嵌合して上下方向(図面上)に摺動可能に連結されるスライド連結部420が設けられる。
前記配置面303にはテンキー部305とマイク部307が設けられ、筐体配置面308には着脱可能な充電池部302が設けられる。一方、前記表示筐体200の筐体面209には、表示画面部204とスピーカ部205とファンクションキー部306とが設けられる。
このスライド連結部420を採用した携帯電話機では、前記表示筐体200の筐体面209がどの状態でも常に露出しているので、表示画面部204とスピーカ部205とファンクションキー部306が常に露出して設けられる。一方、グリップ筐体300の配置面303は第2の状態でのみ露出するので、必要な時にのみテンキー部305とマイク部307を露出させることができる。
また、このスライド連結部420を採用した携帯電話機でも前記実施例と同様な内部レイアウトを取ることができる。ただ、このスライド連結部420の場合、このスライド連結部420側はファンクションキー部306が配置されるため、前記ボンベ208はスピーカ部205側に設けるとよい。
次に、図11を参照して、本発明に係る第4の実施例を説明する。図11は概略構造を示す概念図である。図11において、この第4の実施例は、グリップ筐体300の一端と表示筐体200の一端を互いに重ねて配置し、この重なった配置面303に、この配置面303と直交する回転軸Pを備えた回転連結部430で回転可能に連結したものである。
前記配置面303にはテンキー部305とマイク部307が設けられ、筐体配置面308には着脱可能な充電池部302が設けられる。一方、前記表示筐体200の筐体面209には、表示画面部204とスピーカ部205とファンクションキー部306とが設けられる。
この回転連結部430を採用した携帯電話機では、前記表示筐体200の筐体面209がどの状態でも常に露出しているので、表示画面部204とスピーカ部205とファンクションキー部306が常に露出して設けられる。一方、グリップ筐体300の配置面303は第2の状態でのみ露出するので、必要な時にのみテンキー部305とマイク部307を露出させることができる。
なお、この第4の実施例も、前記3の実施例と同様なボンベ208やガバナー56はスピーカ部205側に配置するとよい。

Claims (4)
- 筐体を表示筐体とグリップ筐体に分割し、この2つの筐体が互いに重なった第1の状態と、この2つの筐体の一端が連結された第2の状態を取り得るように、この2つの筐体を連結部で連結し、
前記表示筐体は、表示装置と燃料電池とこの燃料電池に燃料を供給する燃料カートリッジとを備え、
前記グリップ筐体は、操作部と前記燃料電池で発電した電気を充電する充電部を備え、
前記燃料カートリッジは、前記表示筺体の側面に着脱可能に設けられたたことを特徴とする携帯端末機。 - 請求項1において、
前記連結部は、前記表示筐体と前記グリップ筐体を折りたたみ可能に連結することを特徴とする携帯端末機。 - 請求項1において、
前記連結部は、前記表示筐体と前記グリップ筐体を回転可能に連結することを特徴とする携帯端末機。 - 請求項1において、
前記連結部は、前記表示筐体と前記グリップ筐体をスライド可能に連結することを特徴とする携帯端末機。
