Abstract
【解決手段】 アドレス期間において、映像信号に基づく画素データに応じて表示セル各々に選択的にアドレス放電を生起せしめるアドレス手段と、サスティン期間において、行電極対を構成する行電極間にサスティンパルスを印加するサスティン手段と、アドレス期間終了後でサスティン期間の開始前に、行電極対を構成する行電極間に壁電荷調整パルスを印加する壁電荷調整手段と、を備えた。

Claims (9)
- 複数の行電極対と、前記行電極対の各々に交差して配列され各交差部にて表示セルを形成する複数の列電極とを備えるプラズマディスプレイパネルに対して入力映像信号の1フィールドの表示期間をアドレス期間とサスティン期間とからなる複数のサブフィールドで構成して画像表示を行プラズマディスプレイ装置であって、
前記アドレス期間において、前記映像信号に基づく画素データに応じて前記表示セル各々に選択的にアドレス放電を生起せしめるアドレス手段と、
前記サスティン期間において、前記行電極対を構成する行電極間にサスティンパルスを印加するサスティン手段と、
前記アドレス期間終了後で前記サスティン期間の開始前に、前記行電極対を構成する行電極間に壁電荷調整パルスを印加する壁電荷調整手段と、を備えることを特徴とするプラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 前記壁電荷調整手段は、前記壁電荷調整パルスのパルス幅を制御可能であることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 各行電極対で構成される表示ラインを複数の表示ライン群に分け、前記壁電荷調整手段は、サブフィールド毎に異なる表示ライン群に属する行電極対に対して前記壁電荷調整パルスを印加することを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記表示セル各々内には電子線によって励起されて波長域200〜300nm内にピークを有するカソードルミネッセンス発光を行う酸化マグネシウム単結晶体を含む酸化マグネシウム層が設けられていることを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記行電極対を構成する行電極各々は、行方向に延びる本体部と、放電ギャップを介して互いに対向するように本体部から列方向に突出する突出部を有することを特徴とする請求項1記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記行電極の突出部は、放電ギャップ近傍の幅広部と、この幅広部と本体部を連結する幅狭部とを有することを特徴とする請求項8記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記酸化マグネシウム層が、マグネシウムが加熱されて発生されるマグネシウム蒸気が気相酸化されることによって生成される酸化マグネシウム単結晶体を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項4記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記酸化マグネシウム層が、粒径2000オングストローム以上の酸化マグネシウム単結晶体を含んでいることを特徴とする請求項4記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記酸化マグネシウム単結晶体が波長域230〜250nm内にピークを有するカソードルミネッセンス発光を行うことを特徴とする請求項4記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
