Description
蛍光物質無しで自身が発光能を有する有機金属錯体を選択する際、前記有機金属錯体および蛍光物質のスペクトル結合(spectral coupling)が起こったときに、前記有機金属錯体単独の放射特性の波長における発光の隠蔽と、前記蛍光物質の特性の波長における放射の増大が観察される。スペクトル結合は、前記有機金属錯体単独の放射特性波長と、前記有機金属錯体が無いときの前記蛍光物質の吸収光波長との間に、重なるところがあるということを意味している。前記蛍光物質の極大吸収 m ±25nm において、最適なスペクトル結合が起こる。実際には、ピーク幅ならびに浅色および深色曲線に依って、好都合なスペクトル結合は、100nm以上異なるピーク放射および吸収波長において起こる。有機金属錯体と蛍光物質との間に最適ではないスペクトル結合が予想される場合には、蛍光物質を浅色置換するよりも、深色置換をした方が、より効率的な結果が得られる。
