Description

Claims (19)
- ベース層データとエンハンスメント層データの各々について信号データを複数のブロック変換係数として符号化するエンコーダ(600)であって、
元の高精細度信号データ・シーケンスを前記ベース層データと前記エンハンスメント層データに分解する2層分解ユニット(610)と、
前記分解ユニットに結合され、前記ベース層データを、標準精細度データ・シーケンスを具体化するベース層ビットストリームとして符号化する標準精細度エンコーダ(612)と、
前記分解ユニットと前記標準精細度エンコーダに結合され、高精細度データと標準精細度データの差のみを、高精細度データ・シーケンスを具体化するベース層ピクチャ・ユーザ・データとして符号化する高精細度エンコーダ(624)と、
から成る、前記エンコーダ(600)。 - 少なくとも1つのセグメントについて、前記エンハンスメント層データが、前記ベース層データとインタリーブされる、請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- 約9.8Mbps以上の帯域幅を有する各セグメントについて、前記エンハンスメント層データが、前記ベース層データとインタリーブされる請求項2記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記分解ユニットが、ダウンサンプリング・ユニット(610)から成る、請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記信号データが、ビデオ画素データから成る、請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記標準精細度エンコーダが、MPEG‐2標準に適合する、請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記高精細度エンコーダが、MPEG‐4AVC標準に適合する、請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記標準精細度エンコーダと通信する標準精細度フレーム・バッファを更に含み、再構成されたベース層データを維持する、請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記高精細度エンコーダと通信する高精細度フレーム・バッファを更に含み、再構成されたエンハンスメント層データを維持する、請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- 前記標準精細度エンコーダと前記高精細度エンコーダとの間に結合される内挿ユニットを更に含み、標準精細度データを高精細度データに対応するフォーマットの中に内挿する、請求項1記載のエンコーダ。
- ベース層データとエンハンスメント層データの各々について、信号データを複数のブロック変換係数として符号化するエンコーダであって、
元の高精細度信号データ・シーケンスを受信する受信手段と、
前記元の高精細度信号データ・シーケンスを、前記ベース層データと前記エンハンスメント層データに分解する分解手段と、
標準精細度データ・シーケンスを具体化するベース層ビットストリームとして、前記ベース層データを符号化するベース層符号化手段と、
高精細度データ・シーケンスを具体化するピクチャ・ユーザ・データとして、高精細度データと標準精細度データの差のみを符号化するエンハンスメント層符号化手段と、から成る、前記エンコーダ。 - ベース層データとエンハンスメント層データの各々について、信号データを複数のブロック変換係数として符号化する方法であって、
元の高精細度信号データ・シーケンスを受信するステップと、
前記元の高精細度信号データ・シーケンスを、前記ベース層データと前記エンハンスメント層データに分解するステップと、
標準精細度データ・シーケンスを具体化するベース層ビットストリームとして前記ベース層データを符号化するステップと、
高精細度データ・シーケンスを具体化するピクチャ(画像)ユーザ・データとして、高精細度データと標準精細度データの差のみを符号化するステップと、
から成る、前記符号化する方法。 - ベース層データとエンハンスメント層データの各々について複数のブロック変換係数から成る信号データで符号化されるディジタル・ビデオディスクであって、
ブロック変換係数は元の高精細度信号データ・シーケンスを集合的に表示し、ディジタル・ビデオディスクのベース層は標準精細度データ・シーケンスを具体化する係数を有し、ディジタル・ビデオディスクのエンハンスメント層は高精細度データ・シーケンスと標準精細度データ・シーケンスとの差をピクチャ・ユーザ・データとして具体化する係数を有する、前記ディジタル・ビデオディスク。 - 前記ベース層データが、赤色レーザ・ビデオディスク・プレーヤで読み出される、請求項13記載のディジタル・ビデオディスク。
- 前記エンハンスメント層データが、前記赤色レーザ・ビデオディスク・プレーヤで読み出される、請求項14記載のディジタル・ビデオディスク。
- 前記ベース層データが、MPEG‐2エンコーダで符号化される、請求項13記載のディジタル・ビデオディスク。
- 前記エンハンスメント層データが、MPEG‐4AVCエンコーダで符号化される、請求項16記載のディジタル・ビデオディスク。
- 少なくとも1つのセグメントについて、前記エンハンスメント層データが、前記ベース層データとインタリーブされる、請求項13記載のディジタル・ビデオディスク。
- 約9.8Mbps以上の帯域幅を有する各セグメントについて、前記エンハンスメント層データが、前記ベース層データとインタリーブされる、請求項18記載のディジタル・ビデオディスク。
