前記標準精細度デコーダに結合され、高精細度データ・シーケンスを具体化するピクチャ・ユーザ・データとして記憶されたエンハンスメント層ビットストリームから、高精細度データと標準精細度データとの差を、復号化する高精細度デコーダ(716)と、
前記高精細度データと標準精細度データとの差、および前記標準精細度データから、前記高精細度信号データを、構成する2層構成ユニット(718)と、
から成る、前記デコーダ(700)。 - 少なくとも1つのセグメントについて、前記エンハンスメント層データが、前記ベース層データとインタリーブされる、請求項1記載のデコーダ。
- 約9.8Mbps以上の帯域幅を有する各セグメントについて、前記エンハンスメント層データが、前記ベース層データとインタリーブされる、請求項2記載のデコーダ。
- 前記信号データが、ビデオ画素データから成る、請求項1記載のデコーダ。
- 前記標準精細度デコーダが、MPEG‐2標準に適合する、請求項1記載のデコーダ。
- 前記高精細度デコーダが、MPEG‐4AVC標準に適合する、請求項1記載のデコーダ。
- ベース層およびエンハンスメント層の各々について複数のブロック変換係数から信号データを復号化するデコーダであって、
符号化されたベース層ビットストリームを受信する第1の受信手段と、
標準精細度データを、前記ベース層ビットストリームから、復号化する第1の復号化手段と、
符号化されたエンハンスメント層ビットストリームを、ベース層ピクチャ・ユーザ・データとして、受信する第2の受信手段と、
高精細度データと標準精細度データとの差を、前記エンハンスメント層ビットストリームから、復号化する第2の復号化手段と、
前記高精細度データと標準精細度データとの復号化された差、および前記復号化された標準精細度データから、高精細度信号データ・シーケンスを、構成する構成手段と、
から成る、前記デコーダ。 - ベース層データおよびエンハンスメント層データの各々について複数のブロック変換係数から信号データを復号化する方法であって、
符号化されたベース層ビットストリームを受信するステップと、
標準精細度データを前期ベース層ビットストリームから復号化するステップと、
符号化されたエンハンスメント層ビットストリームを、ベース層ピクチャ・ユーザ・データとして受信するステップと、
高精細度データと標準精細度データとの差を、前記エンハンスメント層ビットストリームから、復号化するステップと、
前記高精細度データと標準精細度データとの復号化された差、および前記復号化された標準精細度データから、高精細度信号データ・シーケンスを、構成するステップと、
から成る、前記方法。
