Abstract
【解決手段】 触媒コンバータにて排気煙の成分と反応する成分を含有する液体の分散体を断続的な制御された脈動期間、燃焼機関の排気煙中に噴射する噴射装置において、
保持するハウジングと、
第一のチャンバと、
液体を第一のチャンバ内に供給する手段と、
液体を第一のチャンバから圧力渦巻型霧化器内に圧送し、該渦巻型霧化器にて液体が分散されるようにする圧送手段とを備え、上記渦巻型霧化器は、分散体を排気マニホルド内に導く出口ノズルを備え、排気煙は、触媒コンバータにて変換される前に、該排気マニホルドを通じて導かれるようになっており、液体が渦巻型霧化器内に噴霧される脈動期間が約1ないし約1000ミリ秒となるように制御されるべく圧送手段を制御する手段を更に備える上記噴射装置、また、液体の分散体を燃焼機関の排気煙中に噴射する方法である。

Description
(i)少なくとも別の反応性成分の存在下にて窒素酸化物を窒素酸化物よりも人間に対して低毒性の成分に変換する選択触媒還元コンバータ上に排気煙を導くステップであって、他の反応性成分が該反応性成分を含有する溶液の分散体として添加されるようにしたステップと、
(ii)制御された量にて且つ制御された脈動期間、反応性成分を含む溶液を圧力渦巻型霧化器内に圧送することにより分散体を形成するステップと、
(iii)分散体が触媒コンバータと接触する前に、分散体を排気煙の流れ中に導くステップとを備える、上記窒素酸化物の濃度を減少させる方法にも関する。

Claims (26)
- 触媒コンバータにて排気煙の成分と反応する成分を含有する液体の分散体を断続的な制御された脈動期間、燃焼機関の排気煙中に噴射する噴射装置において、
ハウジングと、
第一のチャンバと、
液体を第一のチャンバ内に供給する手段と、
液体を第一のチャンバから圧力渦巻型霧化器内に圧送し、該渦巻型霧化器にて液体が分散されるようにする圧送手段とを備え、前記霧化器は、そこから分散体が排気マニホルド内に供給され、排気煙は、触媒コンバータにて変換される前に、該排気マニホルドを通じて導かれるようになっており、
液体が渦巻型霧化器内に噴霧される脈動期間が約1ないし約1000ミリ秒となるように制御されるべく圧送手段を制御する手段を更に備える、噴射装置。 - 請求項1に記載の装置において、脈動期間は約10ないし約100ミリ秒である、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、脈動期間の間、約0.1ないし約5mg/ミリ秒の液体が分散される、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、脈動期間の間、約0.5ないし約1.5mg/ミリ秒の液体が分散される、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、液体は、約0.1ないし約1.5mg/ミリ秒の量にて分散される、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、圧力渦巻型霧化器はアダプタ板を介して第一のチャンバに接続される、装置。

(i)少なくとも別の反応性成分の存在下にて窒素酸化物を窒素酸化物よりも人間に対して低毒性の成分に変換する選択還元触媒コンバータ上に排気煙を導くステップであって、他の反応性成分が該反応性成分を包含する溶液の分散体として追加されるようにしたステップと、
(ii)制御された量にて且つ制御された脈動期間、反応性成分を含む溶液を圧力渦巻型霧化器内に圧送することにより分散体を形成するステップと、
(iii)分散体が触媒コンバータと接触する前に、分散体を排気煙の流れ中に導くステップとを備える、窒素酸化物の濃度を減少させる方法。 - 請求項21に記載の方法において、圧力渦巻型霧化器内に圧送される液体の量は、約0.1ないし約5mg/ミリ秒の脈動期間である、方法。
- 請求項21に記載の方法において、圧力渦巻型霧化器内に圧送される液体の量は、約0.5ないし約1.5mg/ミリ秒の脈動期間である、方法。
- 請求項21に記載の方法において、脈動期間は約1ないし約1000ミリ秒である、方法。
