Abstract
【解決手段】走査電極を含むプラズマディスプレイパネルと、リセット期間中に前記走査電極に立上りパルスを印加するセットアップ駆動部と、前記走査電極に前記立上りパルスが印加される前に第1の立下りランプパルスを印加し、前記走査電極に前記立上りパルスが印加された後に、第2の立下りランプパルスを印加するセットダウン駆動部と、前記リセット期間後のアドレス期間中に前記走査電極に前記立上りパルスの電圧と実質的に同じ電圧を有する走査パルスを印加する走査パルス駆動部と、を備える。

Description
このとき、立上りパルスの最高電圧値と最低電圧値との電圧差Vset−upは、アドレス期間中に走査電極に印加される走査パルスの電圧振幅値(Vsc+Vy)以下である。走査パルスの電圧振幅値は、走査パルスの基準電圧値Vscと最低電圧値−Vyとの差の電圧である。好ましくは、立上りパルスの最高電圧値と最低電圧値との電圧差は、100V以下である。
また、第2の立下りランプパルスの第3勾配は第1の勾配と同一か又は異なることができる。即ち、第1の立下りランプパルスと第2の立下りランプパルスの勾配は、実質的に同一に設定することが可能であるし、両者が異なるように設定することが可能である。
上記において、第1の立下りランプパルスRamp−down1が始まる基準電圧と第2の立下りランプパルスRamp−down2が始まる基準電圧とは、実質的に同一とすることが可能である。本実施形態では、第1の立下りランプパルスが始まる基準電圧と第2の立下りランプパルスが始まる基準電圧とは、維持電圧Vsに設定した。
図8は、本発明によるプラズマディスプレー装置の他の構造を有する走査駆動部123を説明するための図であり、図9は、図8の走査駆動部123によってリセット期間中に動作するスイッチ素子の動作タイミング図である。
Claims (18)
- 走査電極を含むプラズマディスプレイパネルと、
リセット期間中に前記走査電極に立上りパルスを印加するセットアップ駆動部と、
前記走査電極に前記立上りパルスが印加される前に第1の立下りランプパルスを印加し、前記走査電極に前記立上りパルスが印加された後に、第2の立下りランプパルスを印加するセットダウン駆動部と、
前記リセット期間後のアドレス期間中に前記走査電極に前記立上りパルスの電圧と実質的に同じ電圧を有する走査パルスを印加する走査パルス駆動部と、
を備えるプラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 前記第1の立下りランプパルスが始まる基準電圧と第2の立下りランプパルスが始まる基準電圧とは、実質的に同じであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1の立下りランプパルスが始まる基準電圧は、維持期間中に前記走査電極に印加される維持パルスの最高電圧と実質的に同じであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1の立下りランプパルスと第2の立下りランプパルスの勾配は、実質的に同じであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記立上りパルスは、維持期間中に前記走査電極に印加される維持パルスの最高電圧と略同一の電圧から電圧値が次第に立ち上がることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第2の立下りランプパルスは、維持期間中に前記走査電極に印加される維持パルスの最高電圧と略同一の電圧から電圧値が次第に立ち下がることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記立上りパルスの最高電圧値と最低電圧値との電圧差は、前記走査パルスの電圧振幅値以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記立上りパルスの最高電圧値と最低電圧値との電圧差は、100V以下であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第2の立下りランプパルスの最低電圧値は、前記走査パルスの最低電圧値と実質的に同じであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 走査電極を含むプラズマディスプレイパネルと、
リセット期間中に前記走査電極に基準電圧源から供給される電圧と関連して立上りパルスを印加するセットアップ駆動部と、
前記リセット期間後のアドレス期間中に前記走査電極に前記基準電圧源から供給される電圧と関連して走査パルスを印加する走査パルス駆動部と、
を含むプラズマディスプレイ装置。 - 前記立上りパルスは、維持期間中に前記走査電極に印加される維持パルスの最高電圧値と略同一の電圧から勾配をもって立ち上がることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記立上りパルスの最高電圧値と最低電圧値との電圧差は、100V以下であることを特徴とする請求項10に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記走査電極は、前記立上りパルスが印加される前に第1の立下りランプパルスが印加され、前記立上りパルスが印加された後に、前記走査電極に第2の立下りランプパルスが印加されることを特徴とする、請求項10に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1の立下りランプパルスと第2の立下りランプパルスの勾配は、実質的に同じであることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1の立下りランプパルスが始まる基準電圧は、維持期間中に前記走査電極に印加される維持パルスの最高電圧と実質的に同じであることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第1の立下りランプパルスが始まる基準電圧と第2の立下りランプパルスが始まる基準電圧とは、実質的に同じであることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 前記第2の立下りランプパルスの最低の電圧値は、アドレス期間中に前記走査電極に印加される走査パルスの最低電圧値と実質的に同じであることを特徴とする請求項13に記載のプラズマディスプレイ装置。
- 維持パルス基準電圧ノードと、
前記維持パルス基準電圧ノードと接続されたエネルギー回収回路と、
前記エネルギー回収回路の出力端に一端が接続されたブロッキングスイッチと、
走査パルス及びセットアップパルス基準電圧ノードと、
前記走査パルス及びセットアップパルス基準電圧ノードと前記ブロッキングスイッチの他端との間に接続されたセットアップキャパシタと、
前記走査パルス及びセットアップパルス基準電圧ノードと前記ブロッキングスイッチの前記他端との間に直列接続された第1及び第2のセットアップスイッチと、
を含むプラズマディスプレイパネルの駆動装置。
