この階間搬送装置100による動作は次の通りである。まず、上下のコンベヤ34上にFOUP12が載置されている状態で、昇降ケージ122が1階から2階に上昇されているものとする(図5の(h))。そして、昇降ケージ122が2階に近づき、図4の(a)に示すように昇降ケージ122内の上段のコンベヤ32U,34Uが2階の搬出用コンベヤ14及び搬入用コンベヤ16と接続したならば、そこで、昇降ケージ122を一旦停止させ、上段のコンベヤ32U,34Uとコンベヤ14,16を同時に駆動し、搬出用コンベヤ14上のFOUP12を2個だけコンベヤ32U上に送り込むとともに、コンベヤ34U上のFOUP12を搬入用コンベヤ16に送り出す(図4の(b))。この後、昇降ケージ122を僅かに上昇させ、下段のコンベヤ32D,34Dとコンベヤ14,16とを接続させる。そして、同様に、搬出用コンベヤ14上のFOUP12を下段のコンベヤ32上に移載すると同時に、下段のコンベヤ34上のFOUP12を搬入用コンベヤ16に排出する(図4の(c))。1階に降ろす場合は、下段のコンベヤ32D,34Dを先に1階のコンベヤ16,14と接続し、その後で上段のコンベヤ32U,34Uをコンベヤ16,14に接続する点を除き、上記と同様にしてFOUP12の載せ換えを行うことができる(図4の(d)〜図5の(g))。   The operation of the inter-story transport device 100 is as follows. 各階にて互いに並設された搬入用コンベヤ(16)の搬入側端部(16E)と搬出用コンベヤ(14)の搬出側端部(14E)とに対し搬送物(12)を搬送する階間搬送装置(10)であって、
階間に設けられた搬送室(18)と、
各階の前記搬入用コンベヤ(16)の搬入側端部(16E)及び前記搬出用コンベヤ(14)の搬出側端部(14E)に対向するよう、各階毎に前記搬送室(18)に形成された入出庫口(20D,20U)と、
前記搬送室(18)内に昇降自在に配置された昇降ケージ(22)と、
前記昇降ケージ(22)を昇降させるための昇降機構(24,26,28,30)と、
前記昇降ケージ(22)内に互いに並設された2台の入出庫用コンベヤ(32,34)と
を備え、
前記昇降ケージ(22)がいずれかの前記入出庫口(20D,20U)の位置に置かれた場合に、前記2台の入出庫用コンベヤ(32,34)がそれぞれ、当該入出庫口(20D,20U)に対向する前記搬入用コンベヤ(16)の搬入側端部(16E)又は前記搬出用コンベヤ(14)の搬出側端部(14E)と接続するようになっている、階間搬送装置。
