本発明は一般に光通信の分野に関し、さらに特定するとチャープ・リターン・ツー・ゼロ(CRZ)差動位相偏移変調(DPSK)光信号を発生させるための装置および方法に関する。

Claims (10)
- チャープ・リターン・ツー・ゼロ(CRZ)差動位相偏移変調(DPSK)光信号を発生させる方法であって、
CRZ−DPSK光信号を発生させるために第1のリターン・ツー・ゼロ(RZ)駆動信号および第2のRZ駆動信号で単一の変調器を駆動する工程を含む方法。 - 前記変調器がゼロにバイアスされる、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記第1および第2のRZ駆動信号で前記変調器を駆動する工程が同時のRZパルス整形およびチャープDPSK変調を提供する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- さらに、
(a)差動的に符号化されたデータ信号およびクロック信号に論理AND操作を実行することによって前記第1のRZ駆動信号を発生させる工程と、
(b)前記差動的に符号化されたデータ信号の反転体および前記クロック信号に論理AND操作を実行することによって前記第2のRZ駆動信号を発生させる工程とを含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - 工程(a)および(b)の前記論理AND操作が少なくとも1つの差動増幅器を使用して実行される、請求項4に記載の方法。
- チャープ・リターン・ツー・ゼロ(CRZ)差動位相偏移変調(DPSK)光信号を発生させるための装置であって、
第1のリターン・ツー・ゼロ(RZ)駆動信号および第2のRZ駆動信号を発生させるための駆動回路と、
前記CRZ−DPSK光信号を発生させるために前記第1および第2のRZ駆動信号が変調器を駆動するように前記駆動回路に連結された単一の前記変調器とを有する装置。 - 前記第1および第2のRZ駆動信号が同期しており、かつ論理として相補的である、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記変調器がデュアル・駆動のzカットLiNbO3製マッハ−ツェンダー変調器である、請求項6に記載の装置。
- 前記駆動回路が、
差動的に符号化されたデータ信号およびクロック信号を受信し、前記第1のRZ駆動信号を発生させるための第1の差動増幅器と、
前記差動的に符号化されたデータ信号の反転体および前記クロック信号を受信し、前記第2のRZ駆動信号を発生させるための第2の差動増幅器とを含む、請求項6に記載の装置。 - チャープ・リターン・ツー・ゼロ(CRZ)差動位相偏移変調(DPSK)光信号を発生させるための装置であって、
第1のリターン・ツー・ゼロ(RZ)駆動信号および第2のRZ駆動信号を発生させるための手段と、
前記CRZ−DPSK光信号を発生させるために、同時のRZパルス整形およびチャープDPSKデータ変調を提供するように前記第1および第2のRZ駆動信号によって駆動される変調器手段とを有する装置。
