Abstract
Description
毛細管D、EおよびFの毛細管流路に対してヒーターを配置して、毛細管流路中に導入された流体を十分に高い温度に加熱して液体を蒸発させた。用いた液体は、さまざまな含有率のオレイルアルコールを含むプロピレングリコールであった。毛細管D〜F中の液体を蒸発させて、発生したエアロゾルのエアロゾル粒子のMMADと毛細管流路を出る流体(蒸気)の流出速度との間の関係を求めた。
Claims (44)
- 液体供給源と、
前記液体供給源と流体連通する流路であって、出口末端を有する出口区間を備える流路と、
前記流路の加熱部分の液体を加熱して蒸気を発生させるように配置されたヒーターとを備え、
前記蒸気が前記出口区間の出口末端から制御された流出速度で出てエアロゾルを形成するように、前記出口区間が前記流路中の蒸気の速度を変化させるように構成されていることを特徴とするエアロゾル発生装置。 - 前記流路の前記出口区間は、(i)エアロゾル粒子の質量中央空気力学的径を減少させるように蒸気の流出速度を増大させるか、または(ii)エアロゾル粒子の質量中央空気力学的径を増大させるように蒸気の流出速度を減少させるように構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエアロゾル発生装置。
- 前記出口区間は金属、プラスチック、ポリマー、セラミック、ガラスおよびそれらの組み合わせからなる群から選ばれた物質であることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエアロゾル発生装置。

- エアロゾル発生装置の使用者によってエアロゾルが吸入されるマウスピースと、
圧力センサと、
空気がマウスピース中に供給される空気流路と、
前記空気流路を開閉するバルブと、
をさらに具備し、前記コントローラは、使用者が前記マウスピースで吸入すると、空気が前記マウスピース中に供給されることを可能にするために、前記圧力センサが前記マウスピース内の圧力降下を検知した後あらかじめ定められた時間内に前記バルブを起動するように作動可能であることを特徴とする請求項12に記載のエアロゾル発生装置。 - 前記流路はあらかじめ定められた体積を有する計量チャンバを備え、エアロゾル発生装置はあらかじめ定められた体積に等しい量の液体を前記流路の加熱部分に供給するように作動可能な放出部材を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のエアロゾル発生装置。

- (a)液体供給源から、出口末端を有する出口区間を備える流路に液体を供給する工程と、
(b)前記流路の一部分中の液体を加熱して蒸気を発生させる工程と、
(c)前記出口区間の出口末端から蒸気が制御された流出速度で出るように前記出口区間中の蒸気の速度を変化させる工程と、
(d)前記蒸気を空気と混合してエアロゾルを発生させる工程と、
を具備することを特徴とするエアロゾルを発生させる方法。 - (c)は、前記出口区間の出口末端からの蒸気の流出速度を制御して、制御された粒子サイズを有するエアロゾル粒子を発生させる工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項19に記載の方法。
- (i)エアロゾル粒子の質量中央空気力学的径を減少させるように蒸気の流出速度を増大させるか、または(ii)エアロゾル粒子の質量中央空気力学的径を増大させるように蒸気の流出速度を減少させるようにするために、前記出口区間の蒸気の速度を変化させる工程を含むことを特徴とする請求項19に記載の方法。

- 前記出口区間は取り外し可能に、または固定式に、前記第一の区間に取り付けられていることを特徴とする請求項38に記載のエアロゾル発生装置。
- 前記出口区間の流れ断面積は出口区間の長さに沿って連続的にまたは非連続的に変化することを特徴とする請求項38に記載のエアロゾル発生装置。
