Abstract
Description
両端が開放された垂直配向紫外線透過チューブを通じて、前記微生物を含む水の渦乱流を発生させること、
前記チューブ内に、及び前記渦流を介して紫外線の流れを生成し、それによって、前記チューブを通過している間に前記微生物を前記紫外線にさらすこと、及び
前記チューブを励起した後に前記水を回収することを含む方法であるといえる。
紫外線を透過させ、上端及び下端を有する垂直配向チューブと、
前記チューブ内に渦流を発生させるように、前記上端に水を供給する手段と、
前記チューブ、及び前記微生物を含む水に紫外線を放射するように構成された、前記チューブを囲む放射手段と、
前記チューブの前記下端からの排出手段とを備えた装置であるといえる。
装置は、送込みタンク12と、保持タンク16と、主タンク21とから構成される。装置の紫外線処理部はチャンバ10に収容されており、その構成については、図2を参照しながら以下により詳細に説明する。送込みタンク12には、汚染物質を避けるためのカバー15が設けられている。送込みコンベヤ11がシュート26に合わせて配置されて、(食料品等の)製品をタンク12に供給する。タンク12の内部には処理液33がある。処理液は水、又は当業者に知られている防腐剤を含む水であってもよい。製品がスライスされた生鮮果物である場合は、1から7%(W/W)の水酸化カルシウム溶液を使用できる。
図1を参照しながら装置の全体的な動作を説明する。食料品、例えばスライスされたリンゴを送込みコンベヤ11上に配置し、シュート26を下って送込みタンク12内の処理液33に入れる。処理液33は防腐剤を含有する。好ましい処理水溶液は、1から7%のW/W水酸化カルシウムを含有する。
Claims (31)
- 水中の微生物を撲滅する、又はその成長を抑制するための方法であって、
両端が開放された垂直配向紫外線透過チューブを通じて、前記微生物を含む水の渦乱流を発生させること、
前記チューブ内に、及び前記渦流を介して紫外線の流れを生成し、それによって、前記チューブを通過している間に前記微生物を前記紫外線にさらすこと、及び
前記チューブを励起した後に前記水を回収することを含む方法。 - 前記微生物を含む水の噴流を、前記チューブにその頂部又は頂部付近で実質的に接線に沿って投入することによって、前記渦を増大する請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記チューブ内の前記微生物の滞留時間を制御するように、前記噴流の流速を制御する請求項2に記載の方法。
- 前記紫外線の強度を、前記チューブ内で前記微生物がさらされている間に変化させる請求項1から3までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記微生物が、前記渦乱流内の対象上にある請求項1から4までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記対象が、前記チューブを励起した後に回収される請求項5に記載の方法。
- 前記対象が食料品である請求項5又は6に記載の方法。
- 前記食料品が野菜又は果物である請求項7に記載の方法。
- 前記食料品が新鮮な状態でカットされた果物である請求項8に記載の方法。
- 前記食料品には、それが前記渦流内に配置される前に防腐剤が浸透している請求項7から9までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記食料品が、前記チューブを励起する前に乾燥される請求項1から10までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記紫外線が、200から280ナノメートルの波長を有する請求項1から11までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記紫外線が、253.7ナノメートルの波長を有する請求項1から12までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 前記微生物が前記紫外線にさらされるときの前記渦流の温度が約42℃である請求項1から13までのいずれか一項に記載の方法。
- 水中の微生物を撲滅する、又はその成長を抑制するための装置、或いは、
紫外線を透過させ、上端及び下端を有する垂直配向チューブと、
前記チューブ内に渦流を発生させるように、前記上端に水を供給する手段と、
前記チューブ、及び前記微生物を含む水に紫外線を放射するように構成された、前記チューブを囲む放射手段と、
前記チューブの前記下端からの排出手段とを備えた装置。 - 前記チューブがフッ化ポリマーで構成される請求項15に記載の装置。
- 前記水を前記チューブに供給する手段が、螺旋流路を有する漏斗を備える請求項15又は16に記載の装置。
- 前記漏斗と併用される前記チューブ内に制御可能な渦乱流を付与する接線射水口が設けられる請求項17に記載の装置。
- 前記微生物を含む前記水を供給する唯一の手段として、接線射水口が設けられる請求項15又は16に記載の装置。
- 前記紫外線放射手段が、低圧水銀蒸気水晶チューブである請求項15から19までのいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記低圧水銀蒸気水晶チューブが、253.7ナノメートルの波長の紫外線を放射する請求項20に記載の装置。
- 前記紫外線放射手段を囲み、その内面に紫外線を反射させる反射手段を有するケースが存在する請求項15から21までのいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記チューブ及び前記紫外線放射手段と連動して、前記紫外線を放射する温度を制御する温度制御システムが存在する請求項15から22までのいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記チューブを流れる前記水の温度を制御する温度制御手段が存在する請求項15から23までのいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記排出手段が管である請求項15から24までのいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記チューブに水を供給する前記手段の上流に送込みタンクが設けられる請求項15から25までのいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記送込みタンクに食料品を連続的に供給する手段が存在する請求項15から26までのいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 前記排出手段が前記チューブを通過した水及び食料品を排出できる保持タンクが、前記排出手段の下流に存在する請求項15から27までのいずれか一項に記載の装置。
- 食料品を前記保持タンクから搬出する手段が存在する請求項28に記載の装置。
- 前記保持タンクから前記送込みタンクへ水を循環させる手段が存在する請求項28又は29に記載の装置。
- 前記水を循環させる前記手段が、主タンクと、前記保持タンクから前記主タンクへ水を排出する管と、前記主タンクから前記送込みタンクへの導管手段と、前記導管手段内のポンプ及び濾過手段とを備え、前記導管手段の遠端は水を前記送込みタンクへ戻す請求項30に記載の装置。
