Abstract
【解決手段】装置10は、骨部分と係合して長手方向部材12を骨部分に接続することができる締結具16を有している。ハウジング40は、長手方向部材を受け入れる形態とされた第一の通路42と、第一の通路に対して横方向に伸びる第二の通路44とを有している。締結具はハウジングの開口部50を貫通して第二の通路内に伸びる。締結具の長手方向軸線18は、第二の通路の長手方向軸線46に対して複数の角度位置の任意の1つに位置決め可能である。ハウジングの第二の通路内に受け入れられたスペーサ60は、締結具及び長手方向部材と係合可能である。長手方向部材がスペーサに対して非係合状態とされたとき、位置決め部材70は、締結具及びハウジング間の相対的な動きを阻止する力を加え、また、該力に抗して締結具をハウジングに対して手で動かすのを許容する。クランプ機構90は、長手方向部材、スペーサ及びハウジングを締結具にクランプして、締結具がハウジングに対して動くのを阻止する。
Description
人間の脊柱は、直立の姿勢を維持する形態とされており、従って、かなりの重量を支持し得なければならない。脊柱の損傷又は変形がこの機能を損なう可能性がある。かかる状態を治療するための整形外科手術は、例えば、連続的な椎骨に接続された金属ロッドのようなインプラントを骨ねじを介して挿入し、椎骨の位置を固定し、これにより脊柱を安定化させ且つ、支持力を増すようにすることが多く行なわれている。
スペーサ260(図10A)は、ばね部材(図示せず)のような圧縮可能な位置決め部材を受け入れる周溝268を有している。ハウジング240は、ばね部材を受け入れる周溝(図示せず)を有しており、ばね部材はスペーサ260の溝268からハウジングの溝迄、伸びている。ばね部材は、図1ないし図6に図示したばね部材70と同一とすることができ、又は機能的に同等の圧縮可能な要素としてもよい。
Claims (61)
- 装置において、
骨部分と接続可能な長手方向部材と、
締結具にして、長手方向軸線を有し、且つ、骨部分と係合して前記長手方向部材を骨部分に接続することができる締結具と、
ハウジングにして、前記長手方向部材を受け入れる形態とされた第一の通路と、該第一の通路に対して横方向に伸びる長手方向軸線を有する第二の通路とを有するハウジングであって、前記締結具が、該ハウジングの開口部を貫通して前記第二の通路内に伸び且つ前記ハウジングに対して可動であり、前記締結具の前記長手方向軸線が、前記第二の通路の前記長手方向軸線に対して複数の角度位置のうちの任意の1つに位置決め可能である、前記ハウジングと、
前記ハウジングの前記第二の通路内に受け入れられ且つ前記締結具及び前記長手方向部材と係合可能なスペーサと、
前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされ且つ前記スペーサが前記締結具と係合するとき、前記締結具及び前記ハウジング間の相対的な動きを阻止し得るよう力を加える位置決め部材であって、前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされ且つ前記部材が前記力を加えるとき、前記締結具及び前記ハウジングが前記力に抗して互いに対して手で動かすことができるようになされている前記位置決め部材と、
前記長手方向部材、前記スペーサ及び前記ハウジングを前記締結具に対してクランプして前記締結具が前記ハウジングに対して動くのを阻止するようになされたクランプ機構と、を備える、装置。 - 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記位置決め部材が圧縮可能な部材である、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記位置決め部材が、前記ハウジング及び前記スペーサと係合するばね部材である、装置。
- 請求項3に記載の装置において、前記位置決め部材が、前記スペーサの溝及び前記ハウジングの溝内に伸びるリング部材を有する、装置。
- 請求項4に記載の装置において、前記リング部材が、該リング部材が半径方向に収縮し且つ半径方向に拡張するのを許容する空隙を有する、装置。
- 請求項5に記載の装置において、前記スペーサが、該スペーサ及び前記リング部材を前記ハウジング内に挿入するための工具を受け入れる軸方向に伸びるスロットを有し、該スロットが、前記スペーサの前記溝と直交し、前記工具が前記ばね部材と係合して前記ばね部材が前記スペーサの前記溝内に半径方向に収縮するのを許容するようにした、装置。
- 請求項4に記載の装置において、前記リング部材が前記ハウジング及び前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされたとき、前記リング部材がアーチ状となるようになされている、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記締結具が、前記ハウジングの部分球形面と係合可能な第一の部分球形面を有する、装置。
- 請求項8に記載の装置において、前記締結具が、前記スペーサと係合可能な第二の部分球形面を有する、装置。
- 請求項9に記載の装置において、前記締結具が、前記スペーサと係合して前記締結具及び前記ハウジング間の相対的な動きを制限する面を有する、装置。
- 請求項10に記載の装置において、前記第二の部分球形面が、前記第一の部分球形面の直径よりも小さい直径を有し、前記面が前記スペーサと係合して、前記締結具と、前記第一及び第二の部分球形面の間を伸びる前記ハウジングとの間の相対的な動きを制限する、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記スペーサが、前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされたとき、工具が貫通して伸びて前記締結具と係合するときに通る開口部を有する、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記スペーサが、該スペーサを前記ハウジング内に挿入する工具を受け入れるスロットを有する、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記クランプ機構が、前記ハウジングと螺着可能に係合可能なねじ付き部材を有する、装置。
- 請求項14に記載の装置において、前記ねじ付き部材が、前記長手方向部材と係合して該長手方向部材を前記スペーサに対してクランプする、装置。
- 請求項14に記載の装置において、前記ねじ付き部材及び前記ハウジングがのこ歯ねじ部を有する、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされ、前記スペーサが前記締結具と係合するとき、前記締結具及び前記ハウジング間の相対的な動きを阻止し得るように前記部材により加えられた前記力が調節可能である、装置。
- 請求項17に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記力を調節し得るよう前記ハウジングに対する複数の軸方向位置の任意の1つに位置決め可能である、装置。
- 請求項18に記載の装置において、前記ハウジングが、前記部材の軸方向位置を制限し得るよう前記部材と係合可能な一部分を有する、装置。
- 請求項19に記載の装置において、前記ハウジングが、前記部材の軸方向位置を制限し得るよう前記部材と係合可能な半径方向に伸びる面を有する、装置。
- 請求項20に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記ハウジングの前記半径方向に伸びる面と係合可能な半径方向に伸びる面を有する、装置。
- 請求項17に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記ハウジングと固定状態に接続された保持部分を有する、装置。
- 請求項22に記載の装置において、前記保持部分が前記ハウジング内に圧力嵌めされる、装置。
- 請求項22に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記保持部分から伸びて前記スペーサと係合するばね部材を有する、装置。
- 請求項24に記載の装置において、前記ばね部材が、前記保持部分と単一体として形成される、装置。
- 請求項24に記載の装置において、前記ばね部材が、前記保持部分から伸びて前記スペーサと係合する板ばねを有する、装置。
- 請求項17に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記スペーサと係合するばね部材と、前記ばね部材及び前記ハウジングと係合して前記ばね部材を前記ハウジング内で保持する保持部材とを更に有する、装置。
- 請求項27に記載の装置において、前記ばね部材がベルビル座金である、装置。
- 請求項17に記載の装置において、前記ハウジングが、前記部材と係合可能なテーパー付き面を有し、該テーパー付き面が、前記部材の半径方向外径よりも大きい直径を有する前記ハウジングの第一の円筒状面から前記部材の前記半径方向外径よりも小さい直径を有する前記ハウジングの第二の円筒状面まで伸びる、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記ハウジングが、前記部材と係合するように変形して前記部材を前記ハウジング内で保持する一部分を有する、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記スペーサが、前記長手方向部材と係合可能な第一の対の直径上にて対向した部分円筒状面と、前記長手方向部材と係合可能な第二の対の直径上にて対向した部分円筒状面とを有し、前記スペーサが、前記ハウジングに対して回転して前記第一及び第二の対の直径上にて対向した部分円筒状面の一方を前記ハウジング内の前記第一のスロットと整合させる、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記通路の前記長手方向軸線に対し横方向に伸び且つ前記スペーサと係合するピン部材である、装置。
- 請求項1に記載の装置において、前記スペーサが、前記第一の通路を画成する前記ハウジングの1つの面と係合するように前記第一の通路内に受け入れられ、前記ハウジング内の前記スペーサが少なくとも約10°及び約30°以下だけ角度回転するのを許容するタブを備える、装置。
- 装置において、
骨部分と接続可能な長手方向部材と、
締結具にして、長手方向軸線を有し、且つ、骨部分と係合して該長手方向部材を骨部分に接続することができる締結具と、
ハウジングにして、前記長手方向部材が貫通して伸びるときに通る第一の通路と、該第一の通路に対して横方向に伸びる長手方向軸線を有する第二の通路とを有するハウジングであって、前記締結具が、前記ハウジングの開口部を貫通して前記第二の通路内に伸び且つ前記ハウジングに対して可動であり、前記締結具の前記長手方向軸線が、前記第二の通路の前記長手方向軸線に対して複数の角度位置のうちの任意の1つに位置決め可能である、前記ハウジングと、
前記ハウジングの前記第二の通路内に受け入れられ且つ前記締結具及び前記長手方向部材と係合可能なスペーサと、
前記ハウジングに固定状態に接続され、且つ、前記ハウジングから伸びて前記スペーサと係合し該スペーサを前記締結具と摩擦係合状態に維持する部材であって、前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされ、前記スペーサが前記締結具と係合するとき、前記締結具及び前記ハウジング間の相対的な動きを阻止するようにし、前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされたとき、前記締結具及び前記ハウジングが、前記摩擦係合に抗して互いに対して手で動かすことができるようにした、前記部材と、
前記長手方向部材、前記スペーサ及び前記ハウジングを前記締結具に対してクランプし、前記締結具が前記ハウジングに対して動くのを阻止するクランプ機構と、を備える、装置。 - 請求項34に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記第二の通路の前記長手方向軸線に対して横方向に伸びるピン部材である、装置。
- 請求項34に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記ハウジングを貫通して伸び、且つ、前記スペーサと係合する、装置。
- 請求項36に記載の装置において、前記部材が、前記スペーサと係合する第一の直径の第一の軸方向端部分と、前記ハウジングと係合する、前記第一の直径よりも大きい第二の直径の第二の軸方向端部分とを有する、装置。
- 請求項37に記載の装置において、前記第二の軸方向端部分が変形して前記ハウジングと係合し、前記部材を前記ハウジングに固定状態に接続する。
- 請求項36に記載の装置において、前記スペーサが、前記部材がその内部に伸びる溝を有する、装置。
- 請求項36に記載の装置において、前記部材が、該部材が前記ハウジングを通じて挿入されたときに前記スペーサと係合して該スペーサを前記締結具に向けて軸方向に付勢し且つ前記締結具と摩擦係合させる表面を有する、装置。
- 請求項34に記載の装置において、前記締結具が、前記ハウジングの部分球形面と係合可能な第一の部分球形面を有する、装置。
- 請求項41に記載の装置において、前記締結具が、前記スペーサと係合可能な第二の部分球形面を有する、装置。
- 請求項42に記載の装置において、前記締結具が、前記スペーサと係合して前記締結具及び前記ハウジング間の相対的な動きを制限する面を有する、装置。
- 請求項43に記載の装置において、前記第二の部分球形面が、前記第一の部分球形面の直径よりも小さい直径を有し、前記面が、前記スペーサと係合して前記締結具と、前記第一及び第二の部分球形面の間を伸びる前記ハウジングの間の相対的な動きを制限することができる、装置。
- 請求項44に記載の装置において、前記スペーサが、前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされたとき、工具が貫通して伸びて前記締結具と係合するときに通る開口部を有する、装置。
- 請求項44に記載の装置において、前記クランプ機構が、前記ハウジングと螺着可能に係合可能なねじ付き部材を有する、装置。
- 請求項46に記載の装置において、前記ねじ付き部材が、前記長手方向部材と係合して該長手方向部材を前記スペーサに対してクランプする、装置。
- 請求項46に記載の装置において、前記ねじ付き部材及び前記ハウジングがのこ歯ねじ部を有する、装置。
- 装置において、
骨部分と接続可能な長手方向部材と、
締結具にして、長手方向軸線を有し、且つ、骨部分と係合して該長手方向部材を骨部分に接続することができる締結具と、
ハウジングにして、前記長手方向部材が貫通して伸びるときに通る第一の通路と、該第一の通路に対して横方向に伸びる長手方向軸線を有する第二の通路とを有するハウジングであって、前記締結具が、前記ハウジングの開口部を貫通して前記第二の通路内に伸び且つ前記ハウジングに対して可動であり、前記締結具の前記長手方向軸線が、前記第二の通路の前記長手方向軸線に対して複数の角度位置のうちの任意の1つに位置決め可能である、前記ハウジングと、
前記ハウジングの前記第二の通路内に受け入れられ且つ前記締結具及び前記長手方向部材と係合可能なスペーサと、
前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされたとき、前記ハウジングに固定状態に接続され且つ前記ハウジングから伸びて前記スペーサと係合して該スペーサ及び前記締結具を前記ハウジング内にて保持するピン部材と、
前記長手方向部材、前記スペーサ及び前記ハウジングを前記締結具に対してクランプし、前記締結具が前記ハウジングに対して動くのを阻止するクランプ機構と、を備える、装置。 - 請求項49に記載の装置において、前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされ、前記スペーサが前記締結具と係合するとき、前記ピン部材が、前記スペーサを前記締結具と摩擦係合状態に維持して前記締結具及び前記ハウジング間の相対的な動きを阻止し、前記長手方向部材が前記スペーサに対して非係合状態とされたとき、前記締結具及び前記ハウジングが、前記摩擦係合に抗して互いに対して手で動かすことができるようにした、装置。
- 請求項49に記載の装置において、前記ピン部材が、前記第二の通路の前記長手方向軸線に対して横方向に伸びる、装置。
- 請求項49に記載の装置において、前記ピン部材が、前記ハウジングを貫通して伸び且つ前記スペーサと係合する、装置。
- 請求項52に記載の装置において、前記ピン部材が、前記スペーサと係合する、第一の直径の第一の軸方向端部分と、前記ハウジングと係合する、前記第一の直径よりも大きい第二の直径の第二の軸方向端部分とを有する、装置。
- 請求項53に記載の装置において、前記第二の軸方向端部分が変形して前記ハウジングと係合し、前記ピン部材を前記ハウジングに固定状態に接続する、装置。
- 請求項52に記載の装置において、前記スペーサが、前記ピン部材がその内部に伸びるところの溝を有する、装置。
- 請求項49に記載の装置において、前記締結具が、前記ハウジングの部分球形面と係合可能な第一の部分球形面と、前記スペーサと係合可能な前記第二の部分球形面とを有する、装置。
