Abstract
【解決手段】発光体を含む発光層13と、前記発光層に電圧を印加するための一対の電極12,15とを有するエレクトロルミネセンス素子であって、前記発光層13にアセチルアセトナト錯塩を含有させることにより、高輝度のエレクトロルミネセンス素子を実現する。さらに、前記アセチルアセトナト錯塩は3価の金属原子、とくに3族もしくは13族の金属原子と配位しているアセチルアセトナト錯塩とすることで、より高輝度のエレクトロルミネセンス素子を実現する。

Description
化合物や、カルシウムチオガレートなどのチオガレート化合物、バリウムチオアルミネートなどのチオアルミネート化合物、酸化イットリウムや酸化ガリウムなどの金属酸化物、Zn2SiO4などの多元酸化物などの蛍光体、あるいはこれらの蛍光体に例えばマンガンなどの金属原子を付活したものが用い得る。中でも、金属原子を付活した蛍光体は、発光自体の発光輝度が高い点で好ましい。
以下に述べる製造方法によって図1に示した構成のEL発光素子を作成した。
アセチルアセトナト錯塩:トリアセチルアセトナトイットリウム・・1重量部
樹脂結着材:アクリル酸とフッ化ビニリデンの混合物・・・10重量部
つぎに、BaTiO3の微粒子をアクリル酸とフッ化ビニリデンの混合物からなる樹脂結着材に分散混合したものを、発光層13の上にスクリーン印刷した後、120℃で乾燥をして層厚30000nmの絶縁体層14を形成した。
アセチルアセトナト錯塩としてトリアセチルアセトナトアルミニウムを用いた以外は、実施例1と同様の方法でEL素子を作成した。このEL素子の発光輝度を測定したところ、比較例より高い発光輝度が得られた。
アセチルアセトナト錯塩の効果を調べるために、実施例1と同様の方法でアセチルアセトナト錯塩を添加しないEL素子を作成し、実施例1および実施例2のものと発光輝度の比較を行った。

Claims (7)
- 発光体を含む発光層と、前記発光層に電圧を印加するための一対の電極とを有するエレクトロルミネセンス素子であって、前記発光層にアセチルアセトナト錯塩が含有されていることを特徴とするエレクトロルミネセンス素子。
- 前記電圧が交流電圧である請求項1に記載のエレクトロルミネセンス素子。
- 前記発光体が無機化合物からなる蛍光体である請求項1に記載のエレクトロルミネセンス素子。
- 前記蛍光体が、金属原子が付活された硫化亜鉛である請求項3に記載のエレクトロルミネセンス素子。
- 前記アセチルアセトナト錯塩が3価の金属原子と配位しているアセチルアセト錯塩である請求項1に記載のエレクトロルミネセンス素子。
- 前記3価の金属原子が3族もしくは13族の金属原子のいずれかである請求項5に記載のエレクトロルミネセンス素子。
- 前記3価の金属原子がAlもしくはYのいずれかである請求項6に記載のエレクトロルミネセンス素子。
