Abstract
【解決手段】 本明細書には、供給流(400)を燃焼させて燃焼生成物を形成する段階と、燃焼生成物を改質して水素ガスを含むガス組成物を生成する段階とを含む方法が開示される。また、本明細書には、天然ガスと空気又は酸素とを含む供給流を周期的圧縮チャンバ内に導入する段階と、周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)内で供給流を圧縮する段階と、周期的圧縮チャンバ内で供給流を燃焼させて燃焼生成物を生成する段階と、燃焼生成物を周期的圧縮チャンバから改質区分(355)内へ排出する段階と、改質区分内で燃焼生成物を水蒸気で改質して水素を含むガス組成物を生成する段階とを含む水素を生成するための方法も開示される。

Description
CO+H2O → CO2+H2 (II)
上式(I)は、一般に水蒸気改質(SMR)反応と呼ばれ、式(II)は、一般に水性ガス転化反応と呼ばれる。これらの反応は、改質区分内で起こる。式(I)に従って反応する炭化水素がメタン又は天然ガスである場合、この反応は、水蒸気メタン改質(SMR)反応と呼ばれる。

Claims (13)
- 供給流(400)を燃焼させて、燃焼生成物を形成する段階と、
前記燃焼生成物を改質して、水素を含むガス組成物を生成する段階と、
を含む方法。 - 前記供給流(400)が空気又は酸素と炭化水素との混合物を含み、炭化水素に対する酸素の分子比が約0.05から約2.0であり、炭化水素が、アルカン類、アルケン類、アルキン類、あるいはこれらの炭化水素類の少なくとも1つを含む組合せとから成る群から選択されることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 炭化水素がメタン又は天然ガスであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 燃焼前の前記供給流(400)の温度が約18°Cから800°Cであることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)内への導入前に副産物からの熱を利用して前記供給流(400)を予熱する段階を更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 燃焼が往復動ピストン又は回転ピストンと機械的に連結された周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)内で起こり、前記改質が改質区分(355)内で起こり、前記改質区分(355)が前記周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)の下流側にありこれと流体連通していることを特徴とする請求項1に記載の方法。
- 前記周期的圧縮チャンバ200内の圧力が、約3:1以上の体積圧縮比を有することを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 予熱水蒸気、又は該予熱水蒸気と炭化水素との混合物が、前記改質の前に前記改質区分(355)内に導入され、前記改質区分(355)が触媒を含むことを特徴とする請求項6に記載の方法。
- 水素を含むガス組成物から水素を分離する段階を更に含む請求項1に記載の方法。
- 天然ガスと空気又は酸素とを含む供給流(400)を周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)内に導入する段階と、
前記周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)内で前記供給流(400)を圧縮する段階と、
前記周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)内で前記供給流(400)を燃焼させて燃焼生成物を生成する段階と、
前記燃焼生成物を前記周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)から改質区分(355)内へ排出する段階と、
前記改質区分(355)内で前記燃焼生成物を水蒸気で改質して、水素を含むガス組成物を生成する段階と、
を含む水素を生成するための方法。 - 請求項1又は10に記載の方法を用いる装置。
- 改質区分(355)の上流側に配置されてこれと流体連通して、燃焼中に約10から約100kg/cm2の圧力及び約800から約1,500°Cの温度で動作する周期的圧縮チャンバ(200)と、
前記改質区分(355)の下流側に配置されてこれと流体連通した水素分離器(600)と、
を含む水素を生成するための装置。 - 前記水素分離器(600)の下流側に配置されてこれと流体連通した熱交換器(700)を更に含むことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の装置。
