Abstract
【解決手段】 シャンクの先端部に固着手段を介して固着された高硬度チップから成る刃手段と、該刃手段から連続するシャンクの先端部に形成された溝手段とから成るドリル手段を構成する。固着手段は、シャンクの先端部を直径線上に位置して該シャンクの先端面から軸方向に延びる保持溝を備える。刃手段は、前記保持溝に挿入保持される基板部と、該基板部から延設されシャンクの先端面よりも突出する山形状の刃部とを備え、該刃部の山形状の縁部に切削刃を形成する。溝手段は、シャンクの回転方向に沿って螺旋状に延びると共にシャンクの先端面に開口する開口端を有する案内溝により構成され、少なくとも3条以上の案内溝をシャンクの周方向に等間隔に配列することにより、少なくとも1条の案内溝の開口端が刃手段により塞がれないように構成する。

目的と効果を好適に達することができる。
図1ないし図6は、本発明に係るセルフドリルネジの1実施形態を示しており、セルフドリルネジ1は、図1(A)に示すような頭部2を形成されたシャンクブランク材3に基づいて、図1(B)に示すように、シャンク4の先端部4aに固着手段5と溝手段6を形成し、シャンク4の後続部4bに螺糸を有するネジ手段7を形成したネジ体8を形成される。その後、図1(C)及び(D)に示すように、固着手段5に刃手段9を固着することにより、ドリル手段10が形成される。シャンクブランク材3は、ネジ用線材としてのFe線、炭素鋼線、SUS410その他のステンレス鋼線により形成され、刃手段9は、タングステンカーバイドの焼結合金から成る超硬チップや、粉末ハイスから成る高硬度チップや、セラミックから成る高硬度チップ、その他の高硬度素材に基づく高硬度チップにより形成されている。また、シャンクブランク材3は、先端に面取りされたテーパ面3aを形成している。
図6は、本発明の実施形態に係るセルフドリルネジ1を住宅のリフォーム用ビスとして実施した場合の使用例を示しており、木質の柱又は垂木等の骨材22の外側にはモルタル壁23が形成されている。モルタル壁23をサイディング等の化粧板(図示せず)により被うリフォームを施工するに際し、モルタル壁23には木質の胴縁24が固着され、この胴縁24を固着するために、セルフドリルネジ1が使用される。
図7は、本発明に係るセルフドリルネジ1の他の実施形態を示している。シャンク4の先端部4aに設けられたドリル手段10の構成は、上記実施形態について説明したドリル手段10と同様であるから、上述の説明を援用する。図7に示す実施形態において、シャンク4の後続部4bに設けられたネジ手段7は、1条の螺糸14aを有する1条ネジとして形成されている。また、尾端には鍋頭とされた頭部2aを有する。
図8は、本発明に係るドリルの実施形態を示しており、ドリルビットとしてのドリル工具26を例示している。

Claims (8)
- シャンクの先端部に固着手段を介して固着された高硬度チップから成る刃手段と、該刃手段から連続するシャンクの先端部に形成された溝手段とから成るドリル手段を構成したものにおいて、
前記固着手段は、シャンクの先端部の直径線上に位置して該シャンクの先端面から軸方向に延びる保持溝を備え、
前記刃手段は、前記保持溝に挿入保持される基板部と、該基板部から延設されシャンクの先端面よりも突出する山形状の刃部とを備え、該刃部の山形状の縁部に切削刃を形成しており、該刃手段の回転軌跡を規定する最大直径D1と、溝手段を有するシャンクの先端部の最大直径D2を、D1≧D2となるように形成しており、
前記溝手段は、シャンクの回転方向に沿って螺旋状に延びると共にシャンクの先端面に開口する開口端を有する案内溝により構成されており、少なくとも3条以上の案内溝をシャンクの周方向に等間隔に配列することにより、少なくとも1条の案内溝の開口端が刃手段により塞がれないように構成したことを特徴とするドリル。 - 溝手段を構成する案内溝の開口端は、シャンクの先端面に対してシャンクの軸心方向に向けて傾斜する案内テーパ面を形成して成ることを特徴とする請求項1に記載のドリル。
- 溝手段を構成する3条以上の案内溝は、シャンクの先端部をローリングダイスで転造することにより形成されており、該案内溝のリード角を35〜65度に構成されていることを特徴とする請求項1又は2に記載のドリル。
- 溝手段を構成する案内溝は、隣り合う案内溝の間に螺旋リブを構成すると共に、該螺旋リブの頂部にフラットな案内リブ面を形成していることを特徴とする請求項1、2、又は3に記載のドリル。
- 刃手段は、基板部の両側縁に側刃を形成しており、該側刃を案内溝を介して露出せしめていることを特徴とする請求項1、2、3又は4に記載のドリル。
- 請求項1、2、3、4又は5に記載のドリルをシャンクの先端部に形成し、シャンクの後続部に螺糸を有するネジ手段を形成して成ることを特徴とするセルフドリルネジ。
- 刃手段の回転軌跡を規定する最大直径D1と、溝手段を有するシャンクの先端部の最大直径D2と、ネジ手段の山径D3及び谷径D4を、D1≧D2かつD3>D1>D4となるように形成したことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のセルフドリルネジ。
- ネジ手段は、大径螺糸と小径螺糸を有する2条ネジを構成し、刃手段の回転軌跡を規定する最大直径D1と、溝手段を有するシャンクの先端部の最大直径D2と、大径螺糸の山径D3と、小径螺糸の山径D5を、D3>D1≧D2≧D5となるように形成したことを特徴とする請求項6に記載のセルフドリルネジ。
