Abstract

Description
本システムのいくつかの実施形態では、電子−光学的変調器はカスケード接続された第1と第2の電子−光学的変調器の対を含む。第1の変調器はサブキャリアを変調してその同相および直交位相の成分に関する変調された第2の値の対のストリームを作り出すことによって制御器から入る制御電圧の複数セットのストリームに応答するように構成される。第2の値の対は4−PSK、台形、または4−PSK 2D配座の信号点の座標に対応する。
{A1、A2、A3、A4}が2D配座の4つの信号点を表わす複素数であるとすると、固定の遅延{TB、TC、TD}およびキャリアの位相シフトの4セット、すなわちm=1、2、3、4について{φ(m)}が下記の4つの式を満足すれば光変調器10はこれらの点を表わす変調されたサブキャリアを発生するであろう。

Claims (10)
- デジタル・データを伝送するための方法であって、
サブキャリアを有するコヒーレントの光キャリアを共にコヒーレントの複数の光キャリアへと分割する工程、
共にコヒーレントの複数の光キャリアの各々の中に位相シフトの配列を作成する工程、および
そのサブキャリアが値の対の配列に対応して変調された同相および直交位相の成分を有する出力光キャリアを作り出すために、共にコヒーレントの複数の光キャリアを干渉させる工程を含み、
干渉工程によって作り出された変調された同相および直交位相の成分の値の対が4−PSK 2D配座、16−QAM 2D配座、および16−PSK 2D配座のうちの1つにある信号点に関する座標対に対応する方法。 - 干渉工程によって作り出された値の対が5%以上信号点に対応する、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 分割工程が4つの共にコヒーレントの光キャリアを形成し、かつ作成工程が4つの共にコヒーレントの光キャリア上に位相シフトの配列を作り出す、請求項1に記載の方法。
- 作成工程がさらに、
別々の電子−光学的位相シフタを通して共にコヒーレントの光キャリアの各々を通過させ、その一方で電子−光学的位相シフタに制御電圧の配列を供給することでその上に変調の配列を生じさせる工程を含む、請求項1に記載の方法。 - コヒーレントの光キャリアを4つの共にコヒーレントの第2の光キャリアに分割する工程、
共にコヒーレントの第2の光キャリアの各々に第2の位相シフトの第2の配列を作成する工程、および
その後、変調された同相および直交位相の成分の対の第2の配列を有するサブキャリアを作り出すために共にコヒーレントの第2の光キャリアを干渉させる工程をさらに含み、
第2の配列の変調された同相および直交位相の成分の値の対が4−PSK 2D配座、オフセット4−PSK 2D配座、および台形2D配座のうちの1つにある信号点に関する座標対に対応する、請求項1に記載の方法。 - サブキャリアを伴う光キャリアを受けることの可能な電子−光学的変調器、および
デジタル・データのストリームの受信に応答して電子−光学的変調器に制御電圧のセットのストリームを印加するように構成された制御器を含み、変調器が印加された制御電圧のセットの各々に応答して変調されたサブキャリアを伴う光キャリアを出力するように構成され、
変調器が、サブキャリアを変調することでその同相および直交位相の成分に関する変調された値の対のストリームを生じさせることによって制御器から入る制御電圧の複数セットのストリームに応答するように構成され、それらの値の対が4−PSK 2D配座、16−QAM 2D配座、および16−PSK 2D配座のうちの1つにある信号点の座標対に対応するシステム。 - 変調器が、サブキャリアを変調することでその同相および直交位相の成分に関する変調された値の対のストリームを生じさせることによって制御器から入る制御電圧の複数セットのストリームに応答するように構成され、それらの値の対が4−PSK 2D配座の信号点の座標対に5%以上対応する、請求項6に記載のシステム。
