Abstract
【解決手段】 画像を表示する場合、シグナルライン152に電流を流し、トランジスタ121により有機EL素子101を発光させる電流をキャパシタ124にプログラムする。有機EL素子101を発光させるとき、トランジスタ121と122のカレントミラーにより、微小な電流を制御する。画像を読み取る場合、有機EL素子101が光を受光し、電流を発生し、その電流がプログラムされる。プログラムされた電流を読み出すとき、トランジスタ123と121のカレントミラーにより、電流が増幅されて読み出される。本発明は、有機EL素子の駆動回路に適用することができる。

Claims (5)
- 画素単位で表示を行う素子を有する表示装置であって、
前記素子を駆動する第1のトランジスタと、
第1のモード時に、前記素子が表示する画素の値に基づく大きさの電流を供給する電流回路と、
制御電極が前記第1のトランジスタの制御電極に接続されるトランジスタであって、前記第1のトランジスタとともにカレントミラー回路を構成するとともに、前記第1のモード時に、前記電流回路から電流の供給を受ける第2のトランジスタと、
前記第2のトランジスタの制御電極に接続され、前記第1のモード時に、前記電流回路から電流の供給を受けた状態で前記第2のトランジスタの制御電極に発生する電圧を保持するキャパシタと、
第2のモード時に、前記素子を、前記キャパシタに保持された前記第2のトランジスタの制御電極に発生した電圧が制御電極に供給された状態の前記第1のトランジスタに接続するスイッチと
を備えることを特徴とする表示装置。 - 画素単位で表示または読み取りを行う素子を有する表示読み取り装置であって、
前記素子を駆動する第1のトランジスタと、
第1のモード時に、前記素子が表示する画素の値に基づく大きさの電流を供給する電流供給回路と、
制御電極が前記第1のトランジスタの制御電極に接続されるトランジスタであって、前記第1のトランジスタとともにカレントミラー回路を構成するとともに、前記第1のモード時に、前記電流供給回路から電流の供給を受ける第2のトランジスタと、
前記第2のトランジスタの制御電極に接続され、前記第1のモード時に、前記電流供給回路から電流の供給を受けた状態で前記第2のトランジスタの制御電極に発生する電圧を保持するキャパシタと、
前記素子に受光させる場合に切り替えられる第1のスイッチと、
第2のモード時に、前記素子を、前記キャパシタに保持された前記第2のトランジスタの制御電極に発生した電圧が制御電極に供給された状態の前記第1のトランジスタに接続する第2のスイッチと、
第3のモード時に、前記素子に流れる電流が供給された状態で前記第1のトランジスタの制御電極に発生する電圧を前記キャパシタに保持させるために切り替えられる第3のスイッチと、
第4のモード時に、前記キャパシタに保持された前記第1のトランジスタの制御電極に発生した電圧が制御電極に供給された状態の前記第2のトランジスタに流れる電流を出力する第4のスイッチと
を備えることを特徴とする表示読み取り装置。 - 前記第1のモードにおいて、前記素子を発光させる発光電流のプログラムを行い、
前記第2のモードにおいて、前記素子を発光させて画像を表示し、
前記第3のモードにおいて、前記素子が受光した光に基づいて発生した受光電流のプログラムを行い、
前記第4のモードにおいて、前記受光電流を読み出し、画像を読み取る
ことを特徴とする請求項2に記載の表示読み取り装置。 - 前記素子は、前記第2のモード時に発光する発光素子と、前記第3のモード時に受光する受光素子とからなり、
前記受光素子が発生する電流を増幅する増幅回路
をさらに備えることを特徴とする請求項3に記載の表示読み取り装置。 - 画素単位で表示または読み取りを行う素子を有する表示読み取り装置であって、
前記素子を駆動する第1のトランジスタと、
制御電極が前記第1のトランジスタの制御電極に接続され、前記第1のトランジスタとともにカレントミラー回路を構成する第2のトランジスタと、
前記第1のトランジスタの制御電極と前記第2のトランジスタの制御電極に接続されるキャパシタと、
第1のモード時に、前記画素の値に基づく大きさの電流の供給を受けた状態で前記第2のトランジスタの制御電極に発生する電圧が前記キャパシタに保持されるように前記第2のトランジスタの出力電極を制御電極と接続する第1のスイッチと、
第2のモード時に、前記素子から電流の供給を受けた状態で前記第1のトランジスタの制御電極に発生する電圧が前記キャパシタに保持されるように前記第1のトランジスタの出力電極を制御電極と接続する第2のスイッチと、
前記第1のモード時と前記第2のモード時において、前記素子の前記第1のトランジスタに対する接続を切り替える第3のスイッチと
を備えることを特徴とする表示読み取り装置。
