Claims (10)

  1. 画像を分析するための方法(146)であって、
    画像の複数の要素を表わすデータを受信するステップ(112)と、
    前記複数の要素の各要素を知覚される特徴に従って特徴付けるステップ(118)と、
    所与の特徴(158,160A-D,162)を有し、該所与の特徴とほぼ同一の特徴を有する要素に隣接する各要素を識別するステップ(120)と、
    からなる方法。
  2. 前記特徴付けるステップ(118)が画像を表わす複数のピクセル(164-174)を特徴付けるステップを含む、請求項１の方法。
  3. 前記特徴付けるステップ(118)が背景を表わすピクセルを識別するステップ(158)を含む、請求項２の方法。
  4. 前記特徴付けるステップ(118)が黒情報を表わすピクセルを識別するステップ(160A)を含む、請求項２の方法。
  5. 前記特徴付けるステップ(118)がエッジを表わすピクセルを識別するステップ(160B)を含む、請求項２の方法。
  6. 前記隣接する各要素を識別するステップが前記所与の特徴を有する隣接要素である各要素を識別するステップ(172)を含む、請求項１の方法。
  7. 前記隣接する各要素を識別するステップが非背景ピクセルである隣接ピクセル(150,160A-D)を識別するステップ(172)を含む、請求項１の方法。
  8. エッジを表わし隣接している画像の要素を識別するステップと、
    エッジ(160B)を表わす第１のピクセルを選択し、複数の隣接ピクセルを識別し(172)、前記複数の隣接ピクセルのうちのエッジを表わすいずれかの隣接ピクセルを識別するステップと、
    をさらに含む、請求項１の方法。
  9. 前記複数の隣接ピクセルのうちのエッジを表わす隣接ピクセルを識別するステップが、エッジを表わす隣接ピクセルに一意のラベルを付けるステップを含む、請求項８の方法。
  10. 前記同一ラベルを有し結合しているピクセルを識別するステップが、同一ラベルを有する結合ピクセルにサブラベル(152)を付けるステップをさらに含む、請求項９の方法。
