口と整合させることに関する詳細な記載も含んでいる。そこで提供されている方
法及び実施態様は、本発明に従って使用することができる。
明細書に既に組み込まれている米国特許出願第( )号(代理人事件整理番号第
19601−000320号)にさらに記載されているような、可動式または非
可動式の側面鞘あるいは側面メンバーを使用することができる。例証としてさら
に付け加えると、上述の参照出願は、その側面穴が枝血管の口と整合した状態で
、カテーテルシステムが主要血管内へのステントの位置付けを容易化する一つの
実施態様を提供している。この位置付けは、例えば、その枝血管を通過するまで
主要血管ガイドワイヤーをその主要血管に進入させることにより達成することが
できる。次いで、ステントがその枝血管に到達するか、あるいはその近傍に位置
するまで、カテーテルが上述の主要血管ガイドワイヤーに沿って進められる。こ
の時点で、枝血管ガイドワイヤーがカテーテルの枝血管用管腔を通じて導入され
てもよい。この枝血管ガイドワイヤーは、ステントを主要血管内で展開する前に
、側面穴を枝血管の口と整合しやすくするため、カテーテルから枝血管内へ進め
られる。枝血管ガイドワイヤーを枝血管内に誘導しやすくするため、カテーテル
は、幅の狭い遠位側端部に向けてあるポイントで勾配が付いていてもよく、また
、それが僅かに外向きに湾曲していてもよい。そのようなカテーテルシステムの
一つの利点は、カテーテルの導入に単一のガイドワイヤーを使用できることであ
る。導入されると、そのカテーテルは、枝血管ガイドワイヤーに対する誘導手段
として機能する。
枝血管内への枝血管ガイドワイヤーの導入は、側面穴を血管の口と充分に整合さ
せ得る。他の整合技法は、カテーテルの形態に依存するであろう。例として、幾
つかのケースでは、カテーテルは、例えばカテーテル本体に結合されている切頭
形コネクターの内腔を通過させることにより、カテーテル本体に可動式に結合さ
れる可撓性の鞘を含んでいるであろう。枝血管ガイドワイヤーが枝血管内へ進め
られると、上述の鞘をその枝血管内へ進め、その血管の口と整合するように側面
穴を移動させることができる。

バー、及び/又は、近位側ハブを含んでいてよい。さらに、キット400は、場
合によっては、本明細書で説明された他の何らかの要素、あるいは、本明細書に
組み込まれた他の何らかの要素を含んでいてよく、そして、使用指示書402は
、それらの他の何らかの要素についての使用法を記載していてもよいことが理解
されよう。

Claims (20)
- 【請求項1】 分岐した身体的内腔に配置するためのステントであって、前
記ステントが、中に通じる内腔を規定しかつ側面穴を有する管状本体を含み、前
記本体が、第1壁質量を有する第1部分と、第2壁質量を有する第2部分を有す
るものにおいて、前記第1壁質量が前記第2壁質量よりも小さいステント。 - 【請求項2】 前記第1壁質量が前記第2壁質量の約半分であることを特徴
とする、請求項1に記載のステント。 - 【請求項3】 前記第1部分が第1セル密度を有し、前記第2部分が第2セ
ル密度を有しており、前記第1セル密度が前記第2セル密度よりも小さい、請求
項1に記載のステント。 - 【請求項4】 前記第1セル密度が前記第2セル密度の約半分であることを
特徴とする、請求項3に記載のステント。 - 【請求項5】 前記第1部分が第1の複数のストラットを含んでいて、前記
第2部分が第2の複数のストラットを含んでおり、少なくとも前記第1の複数の
ストラットのうちのいくつかが、前記第2の複数のストラットよりも小さな断面
積を有している、請求項1に記載のステント。 - 【請求項6】 前記第1部分が第1の複数のストラットを含んでいて、前記
第2部分が第2の複数のストラットを含んでおり、前記第2の複数のストラット
が、前記第1の複数のストラットよりも大きなセル密度を規定する、請求項1に
記載のステント。 - 【請求項7】 前記第1部分が前記側面穴を含んでいる、請求項1に記載の
ステント。 - 【請求項8】 前記第1部分と前記第2部分が、第1壁厚と第2壁厚をそれ
ぞれ有しており、前記第1壁厚が前記第2壁厚よりも小さい、請求項1に記載の
ステント。 - 【請求項9】 前記第1壁厚が前記第2壁厚の約半分である、請求項8に記
載のステント。 - 【請求項10】 主要血管と第1及び第2の枝血管を有する分岐した身体的
内腔に配置するためのステントシステムであって、前記システムが: 第1部分と第2部分を有する第1管状ステント本体であって、側面穴を有して
いる第1管状ステント本体;及び 第1部分と第2部分を有する第2管状ステント本体であって、側面穴を有して
いる第2管状ステント本体; を含んでおり、前記第1ステント本体の第1部分が、前記第2ステント本体の第
1部分の内部に配置され、前記第2ステント本体の第1部分と一般的に同心的に
整合され、前記第1ステント本体の第2部分が、前記第2ステント本体の前記側
面穴を通じて延びている、ステントシステム。 - 【請求項11】 前記結合された第1部分が、前記第2部分のうちの一方と
略同一の質量からなる、請求項10に記載のステントシステム。 - 【請求項12】 前記結合された第1部分が、前記第2部分のうちの一方の
セル密度と略同等のセル密度からなる、請求項10に記載のステントシステム。 - 【請求項13】 前記結合された第1部分が、前記第2部分のうちの一方の
壁厚と略同等の壁厚を有する、請求項10に記載のステントシステム。 - 【請求項14】 前記結合された第1部分が前記主要血管に配置されるよう
になされており、前記第1ステント本体の第2部分が前記第1枝血管に配置され
るようになされており、そして、前記第2ステント本体の第2部分が前記第2枝
血管に配置されるようになされている、請求項10に記載のステントシステム。 - 【請求項15】 主要血管と第1及び第2の枝血管を有する分岐した身体的
内腔でステントを展開するための方法であって、前記方法が: 第1部分と、第2部分、及び側面穴をそれぞれ有する第1及び第2の管状ステ
ント本体を与え; 前記第1部分が前記主要血管内に配置され、前記第2部分が前記第1枝血管内
に配置されるように、前記第1ステント本体を前記分岐した内腔内に位置付け、
前記位置付けが、前記第1ステント本体の側面穴を前記第2枝血管の口と整合さ
せる手順をさらに含み; 前記第1ステント本体を拡張させ; 前記第1部分が、前記主要血管内において前記第1ステント本体の第1部分と
一般的に整合した状態でその内部に位置し、前記第2部分が、前記第1ステント
本体の側面穴を通じて前記第2枝血管内に延びるように、前記第2ステント本体
を位置付け、前記位置付けが、前記第2ステント本体の側面穴を前記第1枝血管
の口と整合させる手順をさらに含み;及び 前記第2ステント本体を拡張させること; を含む方法。 - 【請求項16】 前記第1ステント本体の前記拡張を、前記第2ステント本
