In recent years, the high voltage of power transmission lines has been increasing more and more, and more than 500,000 volt-class ones are also appearing. With this, the series of insulators is becoming longer and longer.
Conventionally, when cleaning a vertical insulator chain, an operator is located on the side of the insulator chain and protrudes the operation rod laterally (horizontally) toward the insulator chain, and fits the cleaning section at the tip end to the insulator. I was wearing it and cleaning it. In this case, the operating rod is prone to large fluctuations in the vertical direction while being bent due to the heavy cleaning portion including the water tank at the tip thereof. In addition, since a strong wind is often blown especially on the tower, the washing part is apt to largely fluctuate vertically and horizontally due to the wind pressure.

For this reason, conventionally, the work of fitting the cleaning portion to the insulator has been very troublesome. In particular, in the case of the elongated vertical insulator chain as described above, since the operating rod is also large, it is extremely difficult to fit the cleaning portion to the insulator, and thus the cleaning work requires a lot of labor and time.

According to the present invention, two workers are located above the insulator chain, and one worker vertically or substantially vertically extends the operation rod downward to remove the cleaning portion at the lower end portion of the operation rod. Fit in. That is, instead of protruding the operating rod toward the insulator chain in the horizontal direction as in the conventional case,
Since it stands vertically or substantially vertically and extends straight downward, the weight (load) burden on the operator is much smaller than that of the conventional one. Since the cleaning unit is located at the lower end of the vertical operating rod, the operating rod does not greatly bend or wobble due to its load as in the conventional case, and therefore the operator can easily fit the cleaning unit on the insulator. . Then, the other operator is located in the vicinity of the one operator and alternately pulls the two second string-like bodies to bring the cleaning element into sliding contact with the upper surface and the lower surface of the insulator. The top and bottom surfaces can be thoroughly cleaned. Further, since the two workers are located close to each other, it is possible to perform the cleaning work in good combination while verbally exchanging the work progress status with each other.
