図１の自立性包装袋及び図３の自立性包装袋は、シート状の包材にヒダ９を設けてから、角筒にしてボトムガセットが入った底面部を形成してなる、立体的に製袋する自立性包装袋であるが、包材の水平方向の両端縁の閉じ合わせは、一方の端縁の外面に他方の端縁の内面を密着して接着する、いわゆる封筒張りシールであっても良い。この場合、内側に重ねるヒダ９の二重の端縁のうち外側部分を所要形状に切り欠くと共に、外側に重ねるヒダ９の二重の端縁のうち内側部分を所要形状に切り欠いて重ね合わせてヒートシールすると、該閉じ合わせにかかる両側のヒダ９が一枚状になる。さらに、包材の水平方向の両端縁の閉じ合わせ位置は、後面部中央ではなく、例えば、右側面と後面部との稜の近傍であっても良い。
図１の自立性包装袋及び図３の自立性包装袋は、立体的に製袋されるものであるので、積層してストックすることは出来ない。製袋充填包装機械により、製袋され、被包装品を充填して、トップガセットが入った寄せ棟型の上面部を形成する包装が行なわれる。
なお、縦型の製袋充填包装機械では連続する包材に等間隔にヒダを付けてフォーマーと落下式の被包装品充填用筒との間に導いて角筒に折り曲げかつ端縁同士をセンターシールして角筒を形成して被包装品充填用筒より垂下しボトムガセットが入った底面部を形成して被包装品を落下充填し、それから、トップガセットが入った寄せ棟型の上面部を形成してトップヒートシールを施してカットして図１(g)に示す包装形態となる。又、リブを付ければ図３(b)に示す包装形態となる。
