Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.第1の端子、第2の端子、第1のバッテリ電極、および第2のバッテリ電 極を有するバッテリ保護システムであって、 制御電極、前記バッテリ保護システムの前記第1の端子に結合された第1の電 流導通電極、および第2の電流導通電極、 前記第1のスイッチの前記第2の電流導通電極に結合された第1の電極および 前記バッテリ保護システムの前記第1のバッテリ電極に結合された第2の電極を 有するインダクタ、 前記バッテリ保護システムの前記第2のバッテリ電極に結合された第1の電極 および前記バッテリ保護システムの前記第2の端子に結合された第2の電極を有 する抵抗、 前記抵抗の前記第2の電極に結合された第1の電極および前記インダクタの前 記第1の電極に結合された第2の電極を有する整流器、 前記抵抗の前記第1の電極に結合された第1の入力、前記抵抗の前記第2の電 極に結合された第2の入力、および前記第1のスイッチの前記制御電極に結合さ れた出力を有する第1の比較器、そして 複数の入力および第1の出力を有するバッテリ監視回路であって、前記複数の 入力の内の第1の入力は前記インダ クタの前記第2の電極に結合され、前記複数の入力の内の第2の入力は前記抵抗 の前記第1の電極に結合され、そして前記第1の出力は前記第1のスイッチの前 記制御電極に結合されているもの、 を具備するバッテリ保護システム。 2.前記第1の比較器はヒステリシス比較器である、請求項1に記載のバッテ リ保護システム。 3.前記第1の比較器はさらにイネーブル端子を含み、かつ前記バッテリ保護 システムはさらに前記抵抗の前記第1の電極に結合された第1の入力、前記抵抗 の前記第2の電極に結合された第2の入力、そして前記第1の比較器の前記イネ ーブル端子に結合された出力を有する第2の比較器を具備する、請求項1に記載 のバッテリ保護システム。 4.前記インダクタの前記第1の電極は第2のスイッチを介して前記第1のス イッチの前記第2の電流導通電極に結合され、前記第2のスイッチは制御電極、 前記インダクタの前記第1の電極に結合された第1の電流導通電極、および前記 第1のスイッチの前記第2の電流導通電極に結合された第2の電流導通電極を有 し、かつ前記バッテリ監視回路はさらに前記第2のスイッチの前記制御電極に結 合された第2の出力を含む、請求項1に記載のバッテリ保護システム。 5.再充電可能なバッテリシステムであって、 第1の端子および第2の端子を有する再充電可能なバッ テリパック、 前記再充電可能なバッテリパックの前記第1の端子に結合された第1の電極、 および第2の電極を有するインダクタ、 ゲート電極、ソース電極、および前記インダクタの前記第2の電極に結合され たドレイン電極を有する第1の電界効果トランジスタ、 前記再充電可能なバッテリパックの前記第2の端子に結合された第1の電極、 および第2の電極を有する電流検知用素子、 前記電流検知用素子の前記第2の電極に結合された第1の電極および前記イン ダクタの前記第2の電極に結合された第2の電極を有する整流器、 前記電流検知用素子の前記第1の電極に結合された第1の入力、前記電流検知 用素子の前記第2の電極に結合された第2の入力、そして出力を有するヒステリ シス比較器、 複数の入力および第1の出力を有するバッテリ監視回路であって、前記複数の 入力の内の第1の入力は前記再充電可能なバッテリパックの前記第1の端子に結 合され、かつ前記複数の入力の内の第2の入力は前記再充電可能なバッテリパッ クの前記第2の端子に結合されているもの、そして 前記ヒステリシス比較器の前記出力に結合された第1の入力、前記バッテリ監 視回路の前記第1の出力に結合され た第2の入力、そして前記第1の電界効果トランジスタの前記ゲート電極に結合 された出力を有するトランジスタドライバ、 を具備する再充電可能なバッテリシステム。 6.前記再充電可能なバッテリシステムはさらに、前記電流検知用素子の前記 第1の電極に結合された第1の入力、前記電流検知用素子の前記第2の電極に結 合された第2の入力、そして出力を有する比較器を具備し、そして 前記ヒステリシス比較器はさらに前記比較器の出力に結合されたイネーブル端 子を含む、請求項5に記載の再充電可能なバッテリシステム。 7.前記再充電可能なバッテリパックは複数の再充電可能なバッテリセルを含 み、 前記複数の再充電可能なバッテリセルの内の第1の再充電可能なバッテリセル は前記再充電可能なバッテリパックの前記第1の端子に結合された第1の電極お よび前記バッテリ監視回路の前記複数の入力の内の第3の入力に結合された第2 の電極を有し、そして 前記複数の再充電可能なバッテリセルの内の第2の再充電可能なバッテリセル は前記第1の再充電可能なバッテリセルの前記第2の電極に結合された第1の電 極、および前記再充電可能なバッテリパックの前記第2の端子に結合された第2 の電極を有する、請求項5に記載の再充電可能なバッテリシステム。 8.バッテリを充電するためのプロセスであって、 前記バッテリを通って流れる第1の電流を発生する段階、 前記第1の電流が第1の電流値より大きいことに応じて前記第1の電流を中断 する段階、 前記第1の電流が中断されたことに応じて第2の電流を前記バッテリを通って 流す段階、 前記第2の電流が第2の電流値より小さいことに応じて前記第1の電流を再発 生する段階であって、前記第2の電流値は前記第1の電流値より小さいもの、 前記バッテリにかかる電圧を検知する段階、そして 前記電圧がある電圧値より小さいことに応じて前記第1の電流を発生する段階 、前記電磁エネルギを発生する段階、前記第1の電流を検知する段階、および前 記バッテリにかかる電圧を検知する段階を反復する段階、 を具備する、バッテリを充電するためのプロセス。 9.前記第2の電流を流す段階はさらに整流器を介して前記バッテリの負電圧 端子から前記バッテリの正電圧端子へと導通経路を確立する段階を含む、請求項 8に記載のプロセス。 10.前記バッテリにかかる電圧を検知する段階はさらに、 前記第1の電流を中断する段階、そして 前記第2の電流が実質的にゼロである場合に前記バッテリにおける複数の直列 接続されたバッテリセルの内のある バッテリセルにかかるオープン回路電圧を検知する段階、 を含む、請求項8に記載のプロセス。
