Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.デジタルで符号化されたビデオの品質を制御する方法であって、 ビデオをデジタルで圧縮されたフォーマットに符号化する工程と、 符号化されたビデオの時間期間の品質が変更されなければならないことを示す コマンドをユーザが入力する工程と、 デジタルで圧縮されたフォーマットで符号化されたビデオのフレームの品質お よびビット数を示す入力されたコマンドを使用して、前記時間期間の間のビット 数を求める工程と、 前記時間期間の内の前記少なくとも2つ期間の間の求められたビット数を使用 して、ビデオの前記時間期間の内の少なくとも2つの期間をデジタルで圧縮され たフォーマットに再符号化する工程と、 から構成される方法。 2.請求項1に記載の方法で、前記求める工程が、再符号化されたビデオのビ 求められたビット数を使用して、ビデオの前記時間期間を再符号化するための 手段と、 を具備するシステム。 66.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、 前記再符号化手段が、再符号化された時間期間のビット総数が、前記符号化の 結果生じるビット数を5%以上大きくならないように、ビデオの時間期間を再符 号化するシステム。 67.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、さらに、 ビットの求められた数によりビデオ・バッファのアンダーフローが引き起こさ れるかどうかを分析するための手段を具備するシステム。 68.請求項67に記載のシステムであって、分析するための手段が、前記時 間期間後のフレームのビデオ・バッファ占有を分析するシステム。 69.請求項67に記載のシステムであって、さらに、 アンダーフローを防ぐために符号化されたフレームから削除されなければなら のビット数を求めるために指数関数を使用するシステム。 73.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、さらに、 前記時間期間のもっとも最近の1つの最後の再符号化されたフレームに続くフ レームが、前記時間期間のもっとも最近の1つの最後のフレームの符号化され、 再符号化されたビデオのバッファ占有の差異を吸収するかどうかを判断すること によって、前記時間期間のもっとも最近の1つの最後に再符号化されたフレーム のバッファ占有によりビデオ・バッファ・アンダーフローが引き起こされるかど うかを判断するための手段を具備するシステム。 74.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、前記入力手段が、前記時間期間 の内の1つが最高品質でなければならないことを示すコマンドを入力し、前記求 める手段が、ビデオ・バッファ占有制約およびビデオ・バッファが満たすことが できる最大速度により制限される対応する時間期間にビットの最大数を割り当て るシステム。 75.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、前記入力手段が、前記時間期間 の内の1つが最低品質でなければならないことを示すコマンドを入力し、前記求 める工程が、以前に求められた最低品質データ伝送速度により制限される対応す る時間期間にビットの最小数を割り当てるシステム。 76.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、前記入力手段が、前記時間期間 の1つの品質が符号化および再符号化に類似した品質でなければならないことを 示すコマンドを入力するシステム。 77.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、前記入力手段が、前記時間期間 の品質優先順位を入力し、前記求める手段が互いに相対する前記時間期間の品質 を決定するシステム。 78.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、前記求める手段が、符号化され たビデオのフレームから削除されるビットの総数が、符号化されたビデオの他の フレームに加えられるビットの総数に一致するように、前記時間期間のビット数 を決定するシステム。 79.請求項65に記載のシステムであって、さらに、 デジタルで圧縮されたフォーマットのビデオを表すデータを記憶媒体に転送す る手段を具備するシステム。 前記ビデオ・フレームが少なくとも最小許容バッファ占有を持つように、前記 再符号化の符号化フレームのビット数を削減するための手段と、 を具備するシステム。 85.請求項84に記載のシステムであって、前記求める手段が、アンダーフ ローを防ぐために吸収できる前記フレームの後のビデオ・フレームのビット数を 求めることによって、最小許容バッファ占有を求めるシステム。 88.請求項87に記載のビデオを符号化するためのシステムであって、 前記制御装置が、ビデオ・エンコーダに、再符号化のためのビット総数が第1 符号化のビット数を5%を超えて超過しないように、ビデオを再符号化するよう に命令するシステム。 89.請求項87に記載のビデオを符号化するためのシステムであって、 前記制御装置が、符号化の時間期間から削除されるビット数が、符号化の時間 期間に加えられるビット数に一致するように、再符号化のためにビデオ・エンコ ーダを制御するシステム。 90.請求項87に記載のビデオを符号化するためのシステムであって、 ユーザがユーザによる品質選択を入力した後に、前記制御装置がユーザの介入 を受けずに自動的に再符号化のためにビデオ・エンコーダを制御するシステム。
