Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.少なくとも1つの空間光変調器を含む投影システムについての照明システム であって、 アーク・ランプと、 アーク・ランプによって生じるアークの像を、インテグレータ・ロッドの入力 表面に合焦する手段と、 インテグレータ・ロッドの入力表面における視野レンズであって、アーク・ラ ンプの中の散乱光の像を、インテグレータ・ロッドの出力表面から変位して、イ ンテグレータ・ロッド内の位置に合焦するのに効果的である視野レンズと を備えたことを特徴とする照明システム。 2.前記像形成手段が少なくとも1つの集光レンズを備えることを特徴とする請 求項1に記載の照明システム。 3.前記像形成手段が凹の反射性の表面を備えることを特徴とする請求項1に記 載の照明システム。 4.前記視野レンズが前記インテグレータ・ロッドと一体化されていることを特 徴とする前述の請求項のいずれか1項に記載の照明システム。 5.前記視野レンズが前記インテグレータ・ロッドに取り付けられていることを 特徴とする請求項1から請求項4のいずれか1項に記載の照明システム。 6.前記視野レンズが前記インテグレータ・ロッドから分離していることを特徴 とする請求項1から3のいずれかに記載の照明システム。 7.少なくとも1つの空間光変調器を含む投影システムについての照明システム であって、 光源と、 光源と空間光変調器との間の光路に介在されたインテグレータ・ロッドと、 インテグレータ・ロッドからの光の出力を空間光変調器に効果的に合焦する合 焦手段と、 インテグレータ・ロッドから出てくる光を透過させるのに効果的な、インテグ レータ・ロッドの出力表面における光透過性の保護手段であって、インテグレー タ・ロッドから離間した保護手段の表面のいかなるくずの像も空間光変調器の上 に合焦されないほどの厚さを有する保護手段と を備えたことを特徴とする照明システム。 8.前記保護手段が上記インテグレータ・ロッドの光軸に垂直な方向において、 上記インテグレータ・ロッドの出力表面よりも大きな面積を有することを特徴と する請求項7に記載の照明システム。 9.前記保護手段が光透過性の板であることを特徴とする請求項7又は請求項8 に記載の照明システム。 10.前記保護手段が像形成素子であることを特徴とする請求項7又は請求項8 に記載の照明システム。 11.前記保護手段がインテグレータ・ロッドを通過する光の方向を変えるのに 効果的なプリズム素子であることを特徴とする請求項7又は請求項8に記載の照 明システム。 12.少なくとも1つの空間光変調器を含む投影システムについての照明システ ムであって、 少なくとも2つの光源と、 インテグレータ・ロッドと、 インテグレータ・ロッドが、いかなる時においても、ロッドに入射する光から 実質的に一様な照明の合成された光ビームをつくるように、インテグレータ・ロ ッドの入力面へと各光源からの光を結合するのに効果的なプリズム手段と、 プリズム手段の各々の入力表面に各々の光源からの光を合焦するのに効果的な 、各々の光源についての合焦手段と を備えたことを特徴とする照明システム。 13.光が同時にインテグレータ・ロッドへと向かうように前記各光源を配置し たことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の照明システム。 14.光が順次してインテグレータ・ロッドへと向かうように前記各光源を配置 したことを特徴とする請求項12に記載の照明システム。 15.前述の請求項から選択された請求項の組み合わせのいずれかにおいて特定 された特徴を含むことを特徴とする照明システム。 16.少なくとも1つの光学成分が、選択された波長帯の光を反射し、他の波長 帯の光を透過させるのに効果的な回折性の素子を構成する構造化された表面を有 するように形成されていることを特徴とする前述の請求項のいずれか1項に記載 の照明システム。 17.一方の波長帯が可視光の波長帯であり、他方の波長帯が紫外の波長帯及び 赤外の波長帯のうち少なくとも1つであることを特徴とする請求項16に記載の 照明システム。 18.投影システムにおいて用いられる投影装置であって、少なくとも1つの空 間光変調器、及び、空間光変調器を照明するように配置された、前述の請求項の いずれかによる照明システムを含むことを特徴とする投影装置。 19.前記空間光変調器が、デジタル式超小型鏡装置であることを特徴とする請 求項18に記載の投影装置。 20.請求項18又は請求項19に記載の投影装置、及び、空間光変調器からの 空間的に変調された光をディスプレイ・スクリーンに指向させるのに効果的な投 影レンズを備えたことを特徴とする投影システム。 21.ディスプレイ・スクリーンを含むことを特徴とする請求項20に記載の投 影システム。
