Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.アドレス可能なピア-トゥ-ピア・データ通信ネットワークにおいて、ネット ワーク接続を確立する方法であって: 前記ネットワーク内の第1および第2ピアの間でセットアップ接続を開始す る段階; 前記の2つのピアのニーズおよび能力を評価する段階;および 前記の評価に基づいて、選択的にサービス接続の処理を行う段階; より成ることを特徴とする方法。 2.セットアップ接続およびサービス接続が無線通信リンク上で行われることを 特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 3.セットアップ接続を開始する前記の段階が、前記第1および第2ピアの一方 において、前記第1および第2ピアの他方に物理的に近いか否かを調べる段階か ら成ることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 4.さらに、前記第1および第2ピアをそれぞれ包囲する第1および第2検出ゾ ーンを設定する段階から構成される請求項1記載の方法であって、セットアップ 接続を開始する前記段階は、前記第1ピアが前記第2検出ゾーン内に物理的に位 置し前記第2ピアが前記第1検出ゾーン内に物理的に位置しているか否かを調べ る段階から成ることを特徴とする方法。 5.セットアップを開始する前記段階が、前記第1ピアからニーズ非請求メッセ ージを発信する段階から成り、前記ニーズ・メッセージは、前記第1ピアを識別 し、前記第1ピアの必要とするネットワーク・サービスを特定し、前記の評価す る段階が前記第2ピアにおいて行われることを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 6.さらに、前記第2ピアから提供されたネットワーク能力を受け取ることを前 記第1ピアが承認されたか否かを判定する承認プロセスを行う段階から成ること を特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 7.さらに、前記サービス接続を利用して前記第2ピアを介して前記第1ピアに 利用可能なネットワーク能力を提供する段階から成り、前記ネッ トワーク能力は、前記第2ピアにおいてリレーを行うこと,および前記第2ピア とのデータ通信において前記第1ピアと装置との間のデータ通信を行うこと含む ことを特徴とする請求項1記載の方法。 8.アドレス可能なピア-トゥ-ピア・データ通信ネットワークにおいて、対象と するピア・ノードを動作可能に接続する方法であって: (a)前記ネットワークにおいて動作する複数の他のピア・ノードに対して物理 的な距離を調べる段階; (b)前記対象とするピア・ノードにおけるサービスのためのニーズを知らせる イベントを調べる段階; (c)イベントが調べられ、前記他のピア・ノードのうちの1つが近いものであ ると判断された場合に、前記対象となるピア・ノードと前記複数の他のピア・ノ ードのうちの1つとの間でセットアップ接続を確立する段階; (d)前記複数の他のピア・ノードのうちの1つによって提供されたネットワー ク能力に関する情報を受信する段階;および (e)能力に関する情報が前記ニーズに対してコンパチブルであることを示す場 合に、前記対象となるピア・ノードと前記1つの他のピア・ノードとの間でサー ビス接続を形成する段階; より成ることを特徴とする方法。 9.アドレス可能なピア-トゥ-ピア・データ通信ネットワークを動作させる方法 であって、 (a)サービス要求ピアおよびサービス提供ピアのうち第1のものにおいて、前 記サービス要求ピアおよびサービス提供ピアのうち第2のものに対して物理的に 近い位置にあることを検出する段階; (b)前記サービス要求ピアおよびサービス提供ピアのうちの1つにおいて、サ ービス接続のためのニーズの有無を判定する段階; (c)前記ニーズがある場合、前記サービス要求ピアおよびサービス提供ピアの 間の無線接続のセットアップを確立する段階; (d)前記サービス要求ピアに関する承認情報を前記サービス提供ピアと 通信するする段階; (e)前記承認情報に応じて、前記サービス要求およびサービス提供ピアの間で 無線サービス接続を形成するか否かを判定する段階; (f)前記サービス提供ピアに関する能力情報を前記サービス要求ピアと通信す る段階;および (g)前記能力情報に応じて、前記サービス要求およびサービス提供ピアの間で 無線サービス接続を形成するか否かを判定する段階; より成ることを特徴とする方法。 10.さらに、前記サービス要求ピアが前記の段階(e)で承認され、前記サー ビス提供ピアが前記の段階(g)で段階(b)において判定されたニーズとコン パチブルな能力を有すると判定された場合に、サービス接続を形成する段階;お よび 前記サービス接続を利用して前記能力を提供する段階; から成ることを特徴とする請求項9記載の方法。 11.前記能力を提供する段階が、前記サービス提供ピアにおいて、前記サービ ス提供ピアとのデータ通信により、前記サービス要求ピアおよび装置の間のデー タ通信をリレーする段階より成ることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。 12.さらに、前記サービス提供およびサービス要求ピアのうち第1のものにお いて、ユーザ出力データを生成する段階;および 前記ユーザ出力データを前記サービス提供およびサービス要求ピアのうち第 2のもの報知する段階; より成ることを特徴とする請求項10記載の方法。 13.入力データを受信する受信機; 出力データを送信する送信機;および 前記受信機と前記送信機に接続されそれらを介してデータ通信を行い、ネッ トワーク内の第1機器を他の第2機器に相互接続する装置から構成され、当該装 置は: ネットワーク内の前記第1機器と前記第2機器との間でセットアップ 接続を開始し; 前記第1,第2機器のニーズおよび能力を評価し;および 前記の評価に基づいてサービス接続の処理を選択的に行うことを特徴とする 装置。 14.前記相互接続する装置が、前記第1および第2機器をそれぞれ包囲する第 1および第2検出ゾーンを設定する手段からさらに構成され; ネットワーク内の前記第1機器と前記第2機器との間でセットアップ接続を 開始する場合において、前記第1機器が前記第2検出ゾーンに物理的に近くに位 置し前記第2機器が前記第1検出ゾーン内に物理的に位置するか否かを調べる手 段を利用し;および 前記第1および第2検出ゾーンが、実質的に5メートル以上の無線通信範囲 をそれぞれ規定することを特徴とする請求項13記載の方法。 15.複数のノードを含む通信プラット・フォームであつて: 重複した通信領域を有する少なくとも2つのノード;および 通信ネットワークを形成するため、前記少なくとも2つのノードの間でニー ズおよび能力に関する情報を交換する手段; から構成されることを特徴とする通信プラット・フォーム。 16.個人領域ネットワークを確立するネットワーク通信方法であつて: 第1通信ノードとコンパチブルである第2通信ノードを第1通信ノードが検 出する段階;および 前記第1および第2通信ノードにより前記個人領域ネットワークが自動的に 形成される段階; より成ることを特徴とする方法。 17.前記自動的に形成する段階は、前記第1および第2通信ノードの一方が前 記第1および第2通信ノードが所定の近接した範囲内にあることを検出した場合 に、前記第1および第2通信ノードの間で通信リンクを確立する段階より成るこ とを特徴とする請求項16記載の方法。 18.通信リンクを確立する段階が、RF通信リンクを確立する段階より成るこ とを特徴とする請求項17記載の方法。 19.通信リンクを確立する段階が、IR通信リンクを確立する段階より成るこ とを特徴とする請求項17記載の方法。 20.第1ノードに近い第2ノードが存在することを検出する手段;および 前記第1および第2ノードの間で自動的に確立される通信リンクであって、 前記通信リンクは前記第1および第2ノードに制御されて確立される通信リンク ; から構成されることを特徴とする通信ネットワーク。 21.前記第1および第2ノードがコンパチブルでない場合に、前記第2ノード が第3ノードに対して前記通信リンクをルーティングする手段からさらに構成さ れることを特徴とする請求項20記載の方法。 22.共通のネットワークにおいて1以上の通信ノードを相互に結合する集積回 路であつて、当該集積回路は: 入力データを受信する受信機; 出力データを送信する送信機;および 前記受信機と前記送信機に結合され第1共通ノードを第2共通ノードに相互 に結合させるプロセッサ; から構成され、当該プロセッサは、前記第1および第2共通ノードが互いに 所定の範囲内に存在し、前記第1および第2共通ノードのニーズおよび能力がオ ーバーラップしている場合に、前記第1および第2共通ノードの間の通信リンク をアクティブにする手段から構成されることを特徴とする集積回路。 23.第1通信ノードとコンパチブルである第2通信ノードを、第1通信ノード が検出する段階;および インフラストラクチャを介することなく、前記第1および第2通信ノードに より通信ネットワークが自動的に形成される段階; より成ることを特徴とするネットワーク通信方法。
