Composition. It is well known that liquid fuels cause pollution and other undesirable side effects when burning in internal combustion engines. Many proposals have been made to reduce such side effects and increase efficiency, for example, miles per gallon. It has been recognized that surfactants can play a useful role in this regard, but to the best of our knowledge, none meet today's commercial standards. It is an object of the present invention to meet this need. In one aspect, the present invention provides a fuel composition comprising a fuel and an additive and an additive miscible with the fuel selected to solubilize the water present to form a transparent, uniform composition. I do. Preferred additives of the present invention are mixtures of non-ionic surfactants and, preferably, surfactants. It is a preferred feature of the present invention to select the surfactant by nature and concentration so that the additives (and any water or non-fuel liquids present) are solubilized in the fuel. For this purpose, it is convenient to look at the hydrophilic-lipophilic balance (HLB) of the surfactant, which value is calculated by the following formula: HLB = mol weight of hydrophilic chain × 20 / total molar weight This value depends on the length of the hydrophilic chain, usually ethoxylate chain. This chain length increases the extent of solubilization due to its high ability to solubilize. Usually, mixtures of surfactants are preferred, preferably those suitable for fuels, for hydrocarbon fuels, for example, by choosing from 10 to 18, most preferably 13. In the case of alcohol, the HLB value of the surfactant is between 3 and 7, most preferably about 4. However, if solubilization at 1: 100 is required, the addition of surfactant usually produces a 1: 1 ratio or a high volume emulsion or 5: 1 ratio. The present invention has the ability to unify the HLB requirements of any liquid fuel, which in turn allows a single dose to be used with any fuel above the C5 chain. The advantage is the amount of treatment directly related to the solubility (according to the attached chart). This chart shows three different combinations of additives, allowing a cost comparison to performance requirements. Depending on the aspect of the monolayer of the present invention, the concentration of the additive may be very low, usually on the order of 0.5 to 1: 1000, preferably about 1: 1000, and most preferably 1: 1200. Where the preference is for additions against performance, further additions appear to have no technical or economic advantage unless a double action of the co-solvent is required. . The additives preferably comprise: Oil-soluble ethoxylated alcohol superdiethanolamide 7-chain ethoxylated fatty acid These three components must be added by the fuel and molecule manufacturing process. Preferably, the ethoxylate of the fatty acid comprises about 25% by volume of the additive, and more preferably the alcohol ethoxylate comprises 50% by volume of the additive. The additives of the present invention are added to hydrocarbon fuels with or without water, such as diesel or gasoline or alcohol. The present invention has a particularly good effect when added to a low distillate based synthetic fuel. In another aspect, the present invention comprises a fuel-miscible additive comprising a light fraction and solubilizing the fuel and additives and water present to form a clear, homogeneous composition. A fuel composition is provided. The presence of the additives of the present invention ensures that the fuel composition forms a sustained, stable, uniform composition, while at the same time ensuring the formation of a monolayer, thereby reducing pollution and providing more complete combustion. And increase the number of miles per gallon. As a result, blended fuels, especially alcohol-based fuels, can perform precise combustion on cooler feeds and reduce iron formate from aldehyde peracid and peroxide reactions that can lead to engine damage. In another aspect, the present invention provides a stable composition comprising adding three specific components to a fuel, for example, as additives as defined, in a volume ratio of about 0.5 to 1: 1000. Provide a way to make it work. Preferably, the addition ratio is about 1: 1000, most preferably about 1: 1200. Compatible with the use of alcohol-based fuels, including adding miscible additives selected to solubilize the fuel and additives to the fuel and removing by-product deposits formed during combustion of the fuel How to run a redesigned engine. Fuel manufacturing process Check for water contamination by Karl Fischer's method and estimate the volume of water in the tank for the end user. 2. Select the correct formula from the stabilizer chart, taking into account cost and processing ratio. Once the percentage of stabilizer has been evaluated, the required components are blended according to the chart, the molecule is blended into the fuel and administered without mixing. Manufacturing process of molecule After the correct choice of superamide, the alcohol and ethylene oxide are blended at the PIT (phase inversion tens ion) (55-58 ° C). Blend 2.1 with Superamide * chosen at PIT. 3. Blend the fatty acids with ethylene oxide and blend with PIT 2. A total blend of all alcohol ethoxylates is obtained. Alcohol ethoxylates are at least 50% of the total weight of the molecule and together with equal amounts of superamides and fatty acid ethoxylates make up 100%. ** Superamide must be blended with fatty acid ethoxylate or alcohol ethoxylate. * The 50/25/25 blend may not be the correct balance as a polymer in theory, but it does not account for extraneous components present during this process, such as free amines, free PEG, free esters and isomers. You have to consider the margin for it. The molecular weights of the two tails are always balanced in this procedure. The stock solution of this example is suitable for the problem of minimal water contamination, but the preferred alcohol ethoxylate is more preferred because the accuracy of the calculation is more accurate and the extra addition of ethoxylate increases the absorption capacity of the micelles It is primary linear and has 3 moles of EO per mole of alcohol. The primary chain alcohol must be at least 80% (by weight) since the isomer balance is mostly contaminants and will not be useful in the ethoxylation step. Since a 2: 1 ratio contains 10% free amine ester and the nature of the process allows this contamination and does not help balance the polymer, diethonanolimide is a fatty acid: It must be a superamide identified with a 1: 1 ratio of diethanolamine. The fatty acid is preferably a C14 acid and is not produced by the polyethylene glycol method because free PEG inhibits the ethoxylation step and disrupts the HLB balance. The present invention is described by way of example only, with reference to the following examples, for a better understanding. Is commercially available as an example I NEODOL91 / 2.5, mainly C 9 -C 11, molecular weight about 270 of the oil-soluble primary alcohol ethoxylate (per mole of alcohol Average 2.7 5 moles ethylene oxide) 1 liter lauryl diethanolamide 500ml fatty 1 mole 500 ml of a fatty acid having a molecular weight of about 506 (commercially available as ATLA S G5507) with 7 moles of ethoxylate per 500 ml. This stock was heated to 55-58 ° C. according to the diagram to give 2 liters of stock solution. Different used cars, with diesel and gasoline engines, were tested at a provincial Ministry of Transport testing station. Each fuel tank was filled and the car ran about 112 km at an average speed of 96 Kph. A dose of the stock solution was added to the tank of each car in a volume ratio of 1: 1000. Visual inspection showed that a clear, homogeneous solution had formed. The tank was refilled and the car again ran the same route. The MOT test was repeated. The results showed that fuel consumption was reduced in the range of 11-20%, with greater savings for larger engines. Testing has shown the following reduction in exhaust gas. Gasoline engine CO reduction; average 80% reduction in hydrocarbons; average 40% reduction in diesel engine diesel smoke; average 50% Example II No change in reference gasoline with no additive and additive at a 1: 1000 treat rate To record, the Mercedes M111 basic test engine was cleaned and prepared for testing. Particular attention was paid to LAMBDA, as using the standard measurement method according to the NAMAS standard, and comparing the dilution / enrichment of the engine with no comparable results. LAMBDA was set at 1 = 0.05. The basic test was started and the engine was run hot and dropped from 4,500 rpm WOT to 1,800 rpm PT stop under different conditions to allow comparison. LAMBD A was performed at 1 = 0.05. After the first test, the head was cleaned and the test was repeated again with a 1: 1000 additive. On average, CO2 was reduced by 14.08% at 2,500 rpm PT and up to 20.64%. Example III 1,800 rpm. To check fuel consumption and emissions performance at 2,500 and 2,500 rpm part throttle, and also to measure power and torque curves, use benchtop under controlled laboratory conditions, using RF83 European Reference Unadded Fuel. Tested. All measurements were recorded according to NAMAS standards. The engine was a 2 liter Mercedes M111 bench engine fitted with a catalytic converter and suitable for unleaded fuel. (All figures quoted are from measurements prior to the catalytic converter.) The results show that CO was reduced by an average of 11.3% and a maximum of 14.34% at 2,500 rpm PT. Example IV A test was conducted to determine any reduction in NOx, which is directly related to flammability and is a hazard that cannot be ruled out by the engine because the air-fuel ratio always contains nitrogen. The results show that NOx was reduced by an average of 38.2% and up to 39% at 2,500 rpm PT. There are three ways to reduce NOx. a) The less air, the less nitrogen. b) The lower the intake air temperature, the lower the NOx. c) The better the fuel supply, the less NOx. Attached is a graph showing the effective effects of adding the additives of the present invention. The power curve shows a power curve that repeatedly measures the same power in fuel and air reduction, which leads to CO 2 and NOx reduction. Torque curve shows a torque curve that repeatedly measures the same power in reducing fuel and air reduction, leading to CO 2 and NOx reduction. Solubility test example Select specific fuels from premium grade gasoline, industrial standard diesel and various alcohol blend fuels, transfer 100 ml each to 12 measuring cylinders, phase separation caused by water saturation into polymer Mentioned. Optimal is the two titrants before the phase. Example 1 After the introduction of each titrant, the solution was gently stirred for 20 seconds. The resulting product was allowed to stand for 10 minutes to stabilize and the visual results were recorded. Example 2 Gasophor consists of 90% unleaded regular gasoline and 10% denatured ethanol. After the introduction of each titrant, the solution was gently stirred for 20 seconds. The resulting product was allowed to stand for 10 minutes to stabilize and the visual results were recorded. Example 7 Diesel After the introduction of each titrant, the solution was gently stirred for 20 seconds. The resulting product was allowed to stand for 10 minutes to stabilize and the visual results were recorded. Example 8 An alternative gasoline consisting of a blend of alcohol and hydrocarbon, the major proportion being alcohol. After the introduction of each titrant, the solution was gently stirred for 20 seconds. The resulting product was allowed to stand for 10 minutes to stabilize and the visual results were recorded. To record the visual aspects of the phase separation for 1% water and 0.1% titrant, the volume was scaled up by a factor of 10 to allow accurate readings. Thus, one liter of each fuel was transferred to twelve two-liter measuring cylinders each. Example 9 After the introduction of each titrant, the solution was gently stirred for 20 seconds. Test (US) Emissions testing using indoline fuel treated with additives known as key ingredients to stabilize the fuel. With the phase-out of lead-free fuels at the outset, minimizing pollution by maximizing available fuel, maximizing performance and burning the fuel as completely as possible has become of paramount importance. This test, designed to compare the results of treated and untreated fuels, was performed under extreme control and was more repeatable than unleaded gasoline, so indoline was used as the carbon balance. Experimental Details The vehicle used was a 1993 California-approved Mercury Cougar, traveling 26,333 miles on an odometer. The car is powered by a 3.8-liter engine with SPI fuel system and has an inertial weight of 38,875 pounds. The car was sourced from the test laboratory at Roush Labortories in Los Angeles, California and was prepared here for this test. A federal test procedure CPR40, also known as the LA4 test, used a chassis dynamometer similar to the Clayton Water Break model. Initially, the car was preconditioned in Indoline and a series of procedures were followed for these steps. 1 / Drain the remaining liquid and fill the tank with indoline to 40% capacity. 2 / Turn off the car battery and eliminate misreading by the fuel computer. 3 / Driving a 10-mile segment car with this dynamometer under specific management conditions and soak for a minimum of 12 hours to a maximum of 24 hours Testing of additive treated fuels against specific control conditions base fuels was performed with the base fuel first. The soak time from preconditioning to test was 15 hours, the soak temperature was 76 ° F, and the barometer Hg was 29.85. Additive treatment control conditions The additive treatment test was not performed until another preliminary conditioning test was completed. The soak time from preconditioning to test was 20.5 hours, soak temperature was 76 ° F., and barometer Hg was 29.82. The result of interest was the expected reduction in hydrocarbon and carbon monoxide emissions, so a flame ionization detection system was used after collecting the diluted exhaust gas in a Tedlar bag. These background bags were analyzed within one hour of the test so as not to lose any sensitive components required for total HC counts. Since more complete combustion was expected, CO detection was based on the LA4-CVS11 test as recommended by the California Air Resources Board. Test reference preconditioning consisted of an LA4 test drive lasting 505 seconds plus 873 seconds. The base fuel test consisted of a 505 second cold start, 873 second cold transient, 10 minute soak, and 505 second hot transient. Total time = 1883 seconds. The additive treated fuel test consisted of a 505 second cold start, 873 second cold transient, 10 minute soak, and 505 second hot transient. Total time = 1883 seconds. Results and discussion As shown, a reduction in hydrocarbons and carbon monoxide was achieved. This was encouraging, but the fact that the control conditions did not take into account all room temperature features is that by forming a monolayer, the fuel was supplied in better conditions with less resistance. Proved the theory that it would be possible to A major improvement was obtained in bag 3. This confirms that the hot transient stage of the test gave a slight temperature difference and enabled a dissolution reaction. Encouraged by these results, the test was continued, but the measurement accuracy was improved and a fuel tank was manufactured under normal room temperature conditions. The location was Associated Octel Co., Milton Keynes, UK. Test (UK) Improves miles per gallon of unleaded reference gasoline with a fuel ratio of 1: 1,000. The fuel component is a major factor contributing to fuel stabilization. The reduction of CO 2 proves that the measurement of fuel consumed by weight is consistent with our claims. With the phase-out of lead-added fuels at the outset, minimizing pollution by maximizing available fuel, maximizing performance and burning the fuel as completely as possible has become of paramount importance. This test, designed to compare the results of treated and untreated fuels, was conducted under supervision, using RF-O8 reference gasoline on a Mercedes M111 bench test engine. These results were obtained prior to the catalytic converter. Experimental Details The engine used was a Mercedes M111, supplied by an Associated Octel Co. test laboratory, and details were recorded according to NAMAS standards. First, the vehicle was preconditioned with the base fuel and the following steps were followed. Prepare a 55 liter drum of 1 / RF-O8 gasoline and outsource to a test shop by simulating a regular fuel tank. 2 / Clean and polish the engine head and run the base test program from full throttle 4,500 rpm to idling. After base running, add 1: 1,000 to the fuel, prepare and test against base fuel. Testing of the added fuel for a particular control condition base fuel was performed with the base fuel first. Additive treatment control conditions The additive treatment test was not performed until another preliminary conditioning test was completed. The detection of CO followed NAMAS recommendations, as more complete combustion was expected. Fuel consumption was supplied by a simulated fuel tank and measured with accurate metering control up to 100 ml. The results shown are for a 2,500 rpm test in August 1995, and a full retest in November 1995 showed a result of 1,800 rpm using RP83 fuel, a more stringent standard than RF08. It is in. With the success of the test (UK Diesel) and above, a diesel vehicle was randomly selected and a dose of 1: 1,000 was used for a front-to-back smoke test. The results are extremely encouraging, and once again confirm the two aspects of the present invention that at a treatment ratio of 1: 1,000, a monolayer structure is dominant. The two graphs show a total black smoke reduction of 66%, using a conversion chart in smoke units the particulate matter reduction is equal to 71.7%.
