(57)【要約】 【課題】 互いに直交する二方向のうちの一方向にのみ
弾性伸縮性を有するシートに二方向への弾性伸縮性を付
与する。 【解決手段】 横方向に弾性伸縮性を有する平坦なシー
ト材料に、縦方向へ延び横方向で山6と谷7とが繰り返
す多数のひだを形成し、山6の頂部8に横方向への弾性
伸縮性を有する弾性糸4が接合する。

【発明の詳細な説明】
【0001】
【発明の属する技術分野】この発明は、縦方向と横方向
とに弾性伸縮性を有するシートに係わる。
【0002】
【従来の技術】従来、伸縮性の弾性繊維からなるウェブ
を一方向へ連続的に供給し、これを加熱されたエンボス
ロールや高圧柱状水流で処理することにより、繊維を互
いに溶着させたり機械的に絡ませたりして肌触りのよい
不織布を得ることはよく知られている。かかる不織布
は、例えば使い捨ておむつや生理用ナプキン等の使い捨
て着用物品に使用される。

【発明が解決しようとする課題】かかる不織布は、ウェ
ブ製造工程やその後のウェブ処理工程で弾性繊維が機械
方向へ向かって並び易い、その結果、得られる不織布は
機械方向へ伸縮容易であるが、その方向と直交する方向
にはあまり伸縮しないということがある。
【0004】そこでこの発明は、一方向へ弾性伸縮容易
であるが、その方向と直交する方向で弾性伸縮性に乏し
いシートをこれら両方向で弾性伸縮容易にすることを課
題にしている。

【課題を解決するための手段】前記課題解決のために、
この発明が対象とするのは、互いに直交する縦方向と横
方向とに弾性伸縮性を有するシートであり、この発明が
特徴とするところは、かかるシートにおいて、前記横方
向よりも前記縦方向へ弾性伸縮容易な平坦なシート材料
に、前記縦方向へ延び、前記横方向で山と谷とを繰り返
す多数のひだが形成され、前記ひだの複数の山の頂部外
側に前記横方向への伸縮性を有する弾性部材が接合して
いること、にある。
【0006】かかる発明の好ましい実施態様において、
前記ひだの複数の谷の底部外側にも前記弾性部材が接合
している。
【0007】実施態様の他の一つにおいて、前記弾性部
材が糸状のものであり、実施態様のさらに他の一つにお
いて、前記弾性部材が前記縦方向と横方向とに弾性伸縮
性を有するシート状のものである。

【発明の実施の形態】添付の図面を参照し、この発明に
係る弾性伸縮性のシートの詳細を説明すると、以下のと
おりである。
【0009】図1、2は、平坦なシート材料1の斜視図
と、弾性伸縮性シート2の斜視図である。シート材料1
は、双頭矢印Y方向へ弾性的に伸縮するが、双頭矢印X
方向へは伸縮しないか、伸縮するにしてもY方向ほどに
は容易に伸縮しないか、またはX方向へ非弾性的に伸長
する。かかるシート材料1には、例えばウレタン弾性糸
や捲縮した複合繊維等の伸縮性の糸がY方向へ強く配向
している不織布や織布がある。
【0010】弾性伸縮性シート2は、シート材料1が折
曲されることによって形成されたひだ付きシート3と、
複数条の弾性糸4とを有する。シート材料1は、矢印Y
方向へひだの山6と谷7とが延び、矢印X方向でそれら
の山6と谷7との起伏が繰り返されるように折曲されて
いる。弾性糸4は、矢印X方向へ直線的に延び、伸長状
態または非伸長状態でひだ付きシート3の山6の頂部8
に接合している。
【0011】弾性糸4には、例えば天然ゴムや合成ゴ
ム、プラスチックエラストマー等からなるものがあり、
かかる糸4は、ホットメルト接着剤等の接着剤によって
頂部8に接合する。弾性糸4として、弾性伸縮性を有す
るゴム系のホットメルト接着剤を使用することもでき
る。糸状に延びるホットメルト接着剤は、それが溶融な
いし半溶融状態にあるときに頂部8に接合して弾性糸4
を形成する。
【0012】このような弾性伸縮性シート2は、矢印Y
方向へ引張られると、ひだ付きシート3が弾性的に伸長
する。また、矢印X方向へ引張られると、ひだ付きシー
ト3のひだが伸びると同時に弾性糸4が弾性的に伸び
る。それゆえ、弾性伸縮性シート2は、Y方向とX方向
とに弾性的に伸縮する。複数条の弾性糸4の伸長応力が
ひだ付きシート3を矢印Y方向へ引張るときの伸長応力
とほぼ等しくなるように弾性糸4の材料と形状と本数と
を選んだ弾性伸縮性シート2は、Y方向とX方向とに同
じように弾性伸縮容易になる。弾性伸縮性シート2は,
比較的低コストで製造可能なもので、使い捨ておむつな
どの使い捨て着用物品の弾性部材として使用するのに好
適である。
【0013】図3は、この発明の実施態様の一例を示す
図2と同様な図面である。この弾性伸縮性シート2で
は、複数条の弾性糸4が螺旋を画いている。
【0014】図4もまた、この発明の実施態様の一例を
示す図2と同様な図面である。この弾性伸縮性シート2
では、X方向へ直線的に延びる弾性糸4が山6の頂部8
に外側から(図の上方から)接合している他に、谷7の
底部9に外側から(図の下方から)接合している。
【0015】図5もまた、この発明の実施態様の一例を
示す図2と同様な図面である。この弾性伸縮性シート2
では、重なり合う2枚のひだ付きシート3,3の間に矢
印Y方向とX方向とに弾性伸縮性を有する弾性シート1
4が介在している。弾性シート14は、上方のひだ付き
シート3の底部9と、下方のひだ付きシート3の頂部8
とにホットメルト接着剤(図示せず)を介して接合して
いる。この図示例のように、図2〜4の弾性糸4は、弾
性シート14に代えることができる。
【0016】この発明において,ひだ付きシート3には
表裏の区別がなく,ひだの山部6というところをひだの
谷部7と言い換えても実質的に意味するところは変わら
ない。

【発明の効果】この発明によれば、一方向にのみ弾性伸
縮容易なシート材料が、この方向と直交するもう一方の
方向へも弾性伸縮容易になる。

  1. 【請求項1】 互いに直交する縦方向と横方向とに弾性
    伸縮性を有するシートにおいて、 前記横方向よりも前記縦方向へ弾性伸縮容易な平坦なシ
    ート材料に、前記縦方向へ延び、前記横方向で山と谷と
    を繰り返す多数のひだが形成され、前記ひだの複数の山
    の頂部外側に前記横方向への伸縮性を有する弾性部材が
    接合していることを特徴とする前記シート。
  2. 【請求項2】 前記ひだの複数の谷の底部外側にも前記
    弾性部材が接合している請求項1記載のシート。
  3. 【請求項3】 前記弾性部材が糸状のものである請求項
    1または2記載のシート。
  4. 【請求項4】 前記弾性部材が前記縦方向と横方向とに
    弾性伸縮性を有するシート状のものである請求項1また
    は2記載のシート。
