Description
Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.(a)架橋しない飽和ポリエステルから生成された、ポリエステルベースの熱 可塑性ポリウレタンを含む、第一皮膜形成剤; (b)(i)酢酸ビニルグリシジルメタクリレートコポリマー、又は(ii)酢酸ビニルグ リシジルメタクリレートコポリマーと酢酸ビニルホモポリマーとの混合物を含む 、第二皮膜形成剤; (c)シランカップリング剤;及び (d)水 を含む、ポリマー材料を強化するために有用なガラス繊維を処理するための、サ イズ組成物。 2.スチレン、トルエン又はアセトン中の溶解度が、少なくとも約70%である、 請求の範囲第1項記載のサイズ組成物。 3.前記ポリウレタンが、前記ポリエステルとジイソシアナートとの反応生成物 を含む、請求の範囲第1項記載のサイズ組成物。 4.前記酢酸ビニルグリシジルメタクリレートコポリマーが、重量平均分子量約 50,000〜約150,000を有する、請求の範囲第1項記載のサイズ組成物。 5.前記ポリウレタンが、陰イオン分散体の形態である、請求の範囲第1項記載 のサイズ組成物。 6.前記シランカップリング剤が、アミノシラン、アミノシランと無水マレイン 酸との反応生成物、ビニルシラン、ウレイドシラン、及びこれらの混合物からな る群から選択される、請求の範囲第1項記載のサイズ組成物。 7.更に酢酸を含む、請求の範囲第1項記載のサイズ組成物。 8.pHが約4〜約6である、請求の範囲第1項記載のサイズ組成物。 9.前記第一皮膜形成剤が、総固形分に対し約10〜約30重量%の量で存在し、該 第二皮膜形成剤が、総固形分に対し約60〜約85重量%の量で存在し、及び該シラ ンカップリング剤が、総固形分に対し約1〜約10重量%の量で存在し;かつ、該 組成物中の固形分の総量が、約4〜約16重量%である、請求の範囲第1項記載の サイズ組成物。 10.乾燥された請求の範囲第1項記載のサイズ組成物で被覆された少なくとも1 種のガラス繊維を含む、繊維製品。 11.乾燥された請求の範囲第1項記載のサイズ組成物で被覆された複数のガラス 繊維で強化されたポリマー材料を含む、成形製品。 12.(a)ポリエステルベースの熱可塑性ポリウレタンを含む第一皮膜形成剤を、 総固形分の約10〜約30重量%; (b)(i)酢酸ビニルグリシジルメタクリレートコポリマー、又は(ii)酢酸ビニルグ リシジルメタクリレートコポリマーと酢酸ビニルホモポリマーとの混合物を含む 第二皮膜形成剤を、総固形分の約60〜約85重量%; (c)シランカップリング剤を、総固形分の約1〜約10重量% 含む、ポリマー材料の強化に有効なガラス繊維を処理するための、水性サイズ組 成物であって、該サイズ組成物が、スチレン、トルエン又はアセトンに少なくと も70%の溶解度を有する、前記組成物。 13.更に、前記組成物のpHが約4〜約6となるような量の有機酸を含む、請求の範 囲第12項記載のサイズ組成物。 14.前記ポリエステルベースの熱可塑性ポリウレタンが、飽和ポリエステルから 生成される、請求の範囲第12項記載のサイズ組成物。 15.更に滑剤を含む、請求の範囲第12項記載のサイズ組成物。 16.乾燥された請求の範囲第12項で定義されたサイズ組成物で被覆されたガラス 繊維を含む、繊維製品。 17.乾燥された請求の範囲第12項で定義されたサイズ組成物で被覆された複数の ガラス繊維で強化されたポリマー材料を含む、成形製品。 18.ポリマー材料を強化するための、サイズ剤が添加されたガラス繊維の製造法 であって、 被覆された繊維を形成するために、複数のガラス繊維に、サイズ組成物を塗布す る工程であって、該サイズ組成物が、(a)架橋しない飽和ポリエステルから生成 された、ポリエステルベースのポリウレタンを含む、第一皮膜形成剤;(b)(i)酢 酸ビニルグリシジルメタクリレートコポリマー、又は(ii)酢酸ビニルグリシジル メタクリレートコポリマーと酢酸ビニルホモポリマーとの混合物を含む、第二皮 膜形成剤;(c)シランカップリング剤;及び(d)水を含む、前記工程;及び 前記繊維上の該サイズ剤を乾燥し、サイズ剤で被覆された繊維を製造する工程を 含む、前記方法。 19.前記サイズ組成物が、該被覆された繊維上に、強熱減量で測定して約0.6〜 約2.0重量%の量で存在する、請求の範囲第18項記載の方法。 20.更に、 前記サイズ剤で被覆された繊維に、帯電防止剤コーティングを塗布する工程を含 む、請求の範囲第18項記載の方法。 21.前記帯電防止剤コーティングが、該繊維に、約0.001〜約0.3重量%の量で塗 布される、請求の範囲第20項記載の方法。 22.更に、 前記サイズ剤で被覆された繊維を、ロービングに巻取る工程; この巻取り工程時に、該ロービングに帯電防止剤を塗布する工程;及び この巻取ったロービングを炉において加熱する工程 を含む、請求の範囲第18項記載の方法。
