Claims (1)
- 【特許請求の範囲】 1.複数の入力であって各複数の信号源へ接続するためのものと信号受取りシス テムへ接続するための出力とをもつサービスマルチプレクサであり、データを入 力から出力へ転送して、非同期転送データセルとして信号受取りシステムへ送る ように動作し、セルを信号受取りシステムへ送る有効帯域幅を表す帯域幅制御信 号を信号受取りシステムから受取る帯域幅制御手段と、各入力の少なくとも1つ で受信されるデータの帯域幅を監視する活性度検出手段とを含み、該帯域幅制御 手段が有効帯域幅および1または複数の監視される帯域幅にしたがって、出力へ 転送されるデータの帯域幅を自動的に調節するように動作し、帯域幅制御手段が 、各入力を介して信号源へ送るためのフィードバック制御信号を発生することに よって転送されるデータの帯域幅を調節するように動作でき、該フィードバック 制御信号によって各信号源がその伝送データ帯域幅を変更するサービスマルチプ レクサ。 2.帯域幅制御手段が、各入力で受信されるデータの一部を捨てることによって 転送されるデータの帯域幅を調節するように動作できる請求項1記載のマルチプ レクサ。 3.入力で受取ったデータを複数のグループに分割し、各捨てられた部分を該グ ループのサブセットから選択する請求項2記載のマルチプレクサ。 4.各信号源に関する特徴データとして、何れの信号源がフィードバック制御信 号を受取るように動作できるかを示す識別子をもつ記憶された表を含む請求項1 記載のマルチプレクサ。 5.活性度検出手段が新しい活性信号源を認識するように動作でき、帯域幅制御 手段が、少なくとも1つの既存の活性信号源の帯域幅を再び割当てて、新しい活 性信号源に帯域幅を割当てることができるように動作する請求項1記載のマルチ プレクサ。 6.活性度検出手段が、所定の時間にデータを送らない静止信号源を認識するよ うに動作でき、帯域幅制御手段が静止信号源に割当てられた帯域幅の割当てを元 に戻して、元に戻された割当てられた帯域幅を他の信号源に再び割当てるように 動作することができる請求項1記載のマルチプレクサ。 7.活性度検出手段が、所定の時間よりも長い時間で信号源に割当てられた帯域 幅の所定の部分よりも小さい帯域幅でデータを送る信号源を認識するように動作 することができ、帯域幅制御手段が、この認識された信号源の帯域幅割当てを小 さくするように動作できる請求項1記載のマルチプレクサ。 8.活性度検出手段が、所定の時間よりも長い時間で割当てられた帯域幅の所定 の部分より大きい部分で伝送している信号源を認識するように動作でき、帯域幅 制御手段がより大きい帯域幅をこの認識された信号源へ割当てるように動作する ことができる請求項1記載のマルチプレクサ。 9.マルチプレクサが、信号源への前記データ転送用の個々のデータ通路を準備 するようにされており、該データ通路がそれぞれ、フィードバック制御信号を受 取るように動作できる通路と、フィードバック制御信号を受取るように動作でき ない通路である請求項1記載のマルチプレクサ。 10.複数の各信号源に接続するための複数の入力およびABRタイプの信号受 取りシステムへ接続する出力をもつサービスマルチプレクサを動作する方法であ り、データを入力から出力へ転送して、非同期に転送されたデータセルとして信 号受取りシステムへ送ることと、セルを信号受取りシステムへ送るための有効帯 域幅を表す信号受取りシステムから帯域幅制御信号を受取ることと、各入力の少 なくとも1つで受信するデータの帯域幅を監視することと、有効帯域幅および監 視される1または複数の帯域幅にしたがって出力に転送されるデータの帯域幅を 自動的に調節することとを含み、さらに少くとも1つの信号源へ向うフィードバ ック制御信号を生成して、前記信号源が伝送データ帯域幅を変更することを含む サービスマルチプレクサを動作する方法。
