1413803 Valves BENTLEY LABORATORIES Inc 16 Aug 1972 [16 Aug 1971] 15256/75 Divided out of 1413801 Heading F2V Inlet and outlet valve assemblies for an extra corporeal blood pump each comprise a lip valve- 103, 108, e.g. moulded from silicon rubber, the valve being provided with a slit by cutting first in an axial direction, and then intersecting the first cut by a transverse cut, thereby forming clean, sharp edges on the valving surfaces 152. The inlet and outlet fittings 100, 110 and the valves are of substantially constant flow crosssectional area, one transverse dimension of the valves being several times greater than the other. The fittings 100, 110, e.g. of polycarbonate, each comprise a cylindrical portion 115 and a tapered portion 118, and are clamped to a pumping chamber tube 105 by metal clamps 135, 136 and 172, 173.
