Abstract

Un sistema di fari anteriori a proiezione è capace di proiettare un largo fascio di luce a divergenza controllata per consentire illuminazioni a fascio basso ed alto. Il sistema di fari anteriori a proiezione comprende un riflettore curvo e una lampada a scarica in gas. Il riflettore curvo ha un primo e un secondo punto focale ottico associati al medesimo posizionati lungo un asse ottico. Il primo punto focale è entro e più vicino al riflettore curvo del secondo punto focale che è distanziato dal riflettore. La lampada è disposta entro il riflettore curvo in corrispondenza del suo primo punto focale e lungo l'asse ottico. La lampada funziona per generare luce. Il riflettore curvo funziona per ricevere una porzione sostanziale della luce generata dalla lampada e per dirigere la luce lungo l'asse ottico verso il suo secondo punto focale. Un elemento ottico, come una maschera o uno specchio sagomato a maschera è posizionato lungo l'asse ottico vicino al secondo punto focale del riflettore per creare un'immagine di taglio netto ben definito entro la luce proveniente dal riflettore. Una lente proiettrice di luce è posizionata lungo l'asse ottico e distanziata dall'elemento ottico ad una distanza approssimativamente uguale alla lunghezza focale della lente per ricevere luce dal secondo punto focale e proiettare la luce come un largo fascio controllato di divergenza contenente l'immagine di taglio ben definito per fornire perciò un'illuminazione a fascio basso per uso veicolare.
