Abstract

Razors are mfd. using at least one strip or blade of an amorphous alloy contg. by wt. 60-70% Fe; 2-10% Ni; 20-30% Cr and/or Co and/or Mo; and 2-3% of >=1 metalloid. The strip or blade has at least one cutting edge coated with a fluorinated carbon polymer, followed by heating 8-30 minutes at 330-357 degrees C. The polymer is pref. PTFE, with heating at 343 degrees C. The metalloids are esp. P, B, C, Al, S, Si, Ga, Ge, As, Se, and/or Te, esp. P, B, and/or C; and the alloys specifically contain (1) 5.4% Fe, 51.3% Ni, 10.1% Cr, 22.9% Co, 7.5% Mo, 2.8% B, are coated with polymer and heated at 330-371 degrees C.; or (2) 65.1% Fe, 9.6% Ni, 17.1% Cr, 6.2% Co, 0.13% Si, 1.9% B, are coated with polymer and heated at 330-371 degrees C.
