Abstract
PURPOSE:To obtain a sharp edge free from cracks and spring back in press bending work by cutting a cut having V-shaped sectional form inside of bending along a bending line of a metallic thin sheet which is to be bent. CONSTITUTION:A cut 5 having nearly V-shaped sectional form is formed by cutting with a cutting tool such as a diamond cutter or a superalloy bit on the back side of a name plate 1 made of metallic sheet on which square holes 2, round holes 3, locking claw 4, etc. that also serve as decoration are worked beforehand. The name plate 1 is then placed on a die 9 with the side on which the cut 5 is made facing upward, and pressed by a punch 10 to obtain a name plate 1 channel bent to have channel-shaped sectional form. The bending line obtained by the above way has small roundness and a sharp edge 11. Further, as stress generated in the material of bending part is small, no drag occur in the holes 2, 3, characters 12, etc., and the accuracy of dimension (a) of the flange part 1' is also satisfactory.
