Claims (1)

WHAT 18 CLAIMED IS:
1. Device applied to a priming charge in a carrier part in the form of a projectile* rocket or the like% which causes the priming charge to ignite a main charge belonging to the carrier part over a relatively large surface momentarily* and which comprises a member covering said surface via a gap-formed space* which member has an opening leading to said space* at which opening the priming charge is applied* as well as one or several outlet openings leading from said space* the priming charge then also being ignited by the hot gases directed towards said openings* characterised in that it has a means for delaying the ignition of the priming charge* preferably in the form of a delay charge applied to the priming charge and/or that the priming charge is arranged to ignite the main charge only after a certain time has passed* and that it is also provided with a part covering said outlet openings* which part prevents the hot gases from igniting the main charge via the outlet openings* 2·1 Device according to Claim 1» the carrier part then enclosing a main charge in the form of a pyrotechnical flare carried in a parachute* which can be separated from the carrier part* which lare is ignited in its end surface facing in the direction away from tbf parachute* characterised in that the covering part is made in the form of a disc applied on top of the outlet openings, and that the disc is then arranged to be actuated for uncovering of the outlet openings when the flare is sudd enly braked up by its parachute* the ignition of the main charge then being delayed until the parachute has opened*' - 6 - 3· Device according to Claims 1 or 2, in which the covering member is provided vlth a part protruding from said surface of the flare* which part Is made with a cavity facing the surface, in which cavity the priming charge is applied* the protruding part then also having an opening leading to the gap-formed space* at which opening the priming charge is in contact with the hot gases* characterised in that the priming charge at one or both of its ends is provided with a recess which* when a remaining layer has been burned*through* constitutes part of a through hole obtained in the priming charge* which causes the lame to be spread out over said surface of the flare towards the outlet openings* which layer thus achieves the delay desired.1 A. Device according to claims 1 or 2* in which the covering member is provided with a protruding part extending from said surface* which part is made with a cavity facing said surface* in which the priming charge is applied, and with an opening leading to the gap-formed space* characterised in that the cavity also contains a delay charge placed at the side of the priming charge facing in the direction away from the surface of the flare* and that also the priming charge Is provided with a through hole which at the ignltiation of the priming charge causes a flame to be spread out over said surface of the flare* 5· Device according to any of Claims 2-5* characterised in that the delay of the ignition of the main charge is chosen to be between 0.2 and 1.0 sees.., particularly between 0.3 sees* COHEN ZKDEK & SPISBACH P.O., BOX 33116* TEL AVIV ATTORNEYS FOR APPLICANT
