Abstract
The safety device for a projectile (10) consists of a latch (22) which is removed once the projectile has been fired. The latch is temporarily immobilised by a stop of burnable material (34) in contact with a pyrotechnic delay. This allows the latch to move a certain time after the delay is fired. The latch moves under the action of centrifugal force. It has an opening (24) to join with a seating in the primer (14) and an explosive element. It has a sloping surface pressing on a pin (26) stop, also sloping and held by the burnable material.
