Abstract

The impact igniter is used for caseless ammunition or for ammunition with a combustible case. This igniter has highly selective impact behaviour and it is practically insensitive against any shock or friction deviating from the shock or friction specified for initiating the igniter. The igniter accommodating combustible block has a channel (5) coaxial with the firing pin (3) of the firearm. The anvil (7) is formed by the sharp edge of the conical end of the block with the channel. Its form matches the cross section form of the firing pin for ensuring shearing of the sensitive compound 6 used for ignition. The pyro-technical igniter is separated by the firing pin by means of a cap which is placed on a shoulder of the propellant block.
