Abstract

The delayed-action firing plug is for explosive devices such as hand grenades, having a release lever with a locking pin. It comprises a sealed igniting module firing the charge of the grenade etc and sealed to the plug. The plug has a striker mechanism actuating the module, which can be so designed that the primary explosive cannot be fired except via the time-delay composition. The module may be rigidly crimped onto the plug at the fuse end, an annular sealling joint being secured in between. The lever may be arranged to detach from the body after unlocking and release of striker.
