Abstract

Grenade which can be fired from a tube by means of a propelling charge, with a percussion fuse which consists of a detonator (28) that ignites an explosive charge (3) or similar object and with an axially displaceable percussion element (5) with a firing pin (8). Furthermore, the grenade is provided with a spring-loaded slide (24) which can be adjusted at right angles to the percussion element (5) and is held by a locking pin (12) which can be moved in the longitudinal direction of the grenade. The grenade is also provided with a detonating cap (10) which during firing is actuated by a second firing pin (7) of the percussion element (5) as a result of the action of mass inertia. A double pyrotechnic charge (21, 22) is thus ignited, the first part (21) of which effects the longitudinal movement of the locking pin (12) and hence the release of the slide (24) and the second part of which is a spontaneously-disintegrating time-delay charge (22) which becomes operative in the event of faulty percussion action. The spontaneously-disintegrating time-delay charge (22) constitutes a section of a second firing chain which includes the percussion fuse chain, whereby the slide (24) puts both firing chains in a safe position and at the same time locks them in the active position.
