Abstract

It consists of a cap (6) which can be screwed onto the mouth of the bottle and which bears a tamper-proof ring seal (7) at the bottom, separated from the cap (6) by a pre-broken join (9) defined by a plurality of short tabs (10) distributed around the circumference of the cap. The cap (6) and the ring (7) are provided with internal threads (5, 8) which extend coaxially and in opposite directions, which engage with corresponding threads on the bottle neck. By unscrewing the bottle closure, the cap (6) and the ring (7) move away from another as a result of their opposite threads, which causes the tabs (10) to break, separating the ring from the cap. The presence of a double thread in opposite directions on the cap and ring respectively, greatly assists the separation of these two elements since, as the seal is opened, there is a combination of tangential and axial forces which cause the ring and the cap to move away from one another. <IMAGE> [GB1531783A]
