Abstract
1479326 Treating peat to form a papermaking pulp E G SCHMIDT 25 Sept 1974 [26 Sept 1973] 41660/74 Heading D2W A pulp suitable for use in paper manufacture is prepared by treating a suspension of peat in water with a 10-15% by wt. chlorine dioxide solution. The resulting pulp may be treated with glycerine to give a mass having elastic characteristics. The peat may be pretreated with a digesting liquor. The pulp obtained may be mixed with a Kraft pulp for use in papermaking.
