Abstract
1369137 Egg cartons BRODRENE HARTMANN AB 15 Nov 1972 [17 Nov 1971] 52740/72 Heading B8P An egg carton comprises a container section (1) having two rows of egg compartments and upwardly extending projections 5 between the rows, and a hinged cover section 2 comprising two gable portions 6 and a recessed portion 7 in which are formed apertures 10 through which parts of the eggs 11 project, the portion 7 having a groove 9 with denesting ribs 15, 16 formed therein, the groove resting on the projections 5 when the carton is closed. The denesting ribs 15 are formed in deeper portions 9a of the groove 9 and space nested lid sections by the height of the rib. If a smaller spacing is required only one rib 16 of a height equal to the depth of the groove 9 is provided. The end walls of the container and cover sections have denesting L-shaped ribs 14. A flap (17) hinged to the container section (1) carries locking projections 18 which engage apertures 19 in the cover section 2. The carton is of fibre pulp which is suction moulded.
